It could be your HDD or DVD drive problem.

Try low level format your HDD and re-install XP again.

If it still problem come again then try clean the laser unit of the DVD drive or replaced another one if you can.

Windows xp installion does not see my hard drive on Panasonic CF-74

Just a thought but are you using XP Pro SP2 or SP3?

In my experience, only XP Service Pack 3 will see your
Hard Disk Drive, not XP Service Pack 2.

Good Luck!

Panasonic Toughbook won't load Windows XP CD

You can check to see if the hard drive is dislodged, but other than that I don't know what to tell you. If you know the drive is functioning correctly then your motherboard is probably dead.

How do i change boot sequence

When the BIOS starts and the company logo comes on, there is a bunch of words written at the bottom of the screen.

See for one which is something like "change boot order". Press that corresponding button on the keyboard. Now follow the things on the screen and explore.

You cannot use the mouse in this 'DOS'sy looking screen. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to navigate.
