Won't power on....

With both manual power switch and remote, pressing power on results in red light on power indicator near IR input switching off for a second and then going back to red (it should turn blue, when it powers on.) No picture on screen.no sound. TV does not power on. I tried changing where I plug the unit in.. no difference.

Hey I have exactly the same problem. when you plug your tv to the power outlet only the red light comes on, but when you try to press the on button nothing happens. I took my tv appart and found out that the power supply is messed up its inside a little black box.

polaroid is garbage..worse yet, any parts are impossible to get, because polaroid/petters/pww doesn't supply them (power boards). The problem is the transformer on the board not being able to convert ac to dc power. btw, a buddy of mine had the newer polaroid..his blew up (started smoking)!

I have the same problem, hit power button, red light goes off and clicks for a couple of seconds then red light comes back on. When the problem first started happening it would eventually turn on but now it does not come one at all.

I think I have the same problem, If I don't use it for a couple of days, then try to turn it on, nothing. I turn it off, and on one more time, it works. WEIRD

RM-GA014 remote can't switch Sony Bravia 46" tv on

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the TV does not respond to the supplied remote control.
  1. Remove the batteries from the remote control.
  2. Press each button on the remote control twice.
  3. Make sure none of the remote control buttons are jammed.
  4. Install fresh batteries into the remote control. IMPORTANT: Make sure the batteries are inserted in the (+ and -) direction shown inside the battery compartment.
  5. Make sure nothing is blocking the Infrared (IR) sensor on the TV. IMPORTANT: Some locations can interfere with the IR signal from the remote control. Glass enclosures, as well as fluorescent or halogen lights, may prevent the IR signal from reaching the TV.
  6. Point the remote control at the IR sensor of the TV.
  7. Press the POWER button and other buttons to test TV operation. IMPORTANT: Do not hold down the POWER button too long. Doing so may prevent the remote control from operating the TV.
    NOTES:
    • If some of the remote control buttons operate the TV but others do not, the remote control may need replaced.
    • If all of the remote control buttons work, no further troubleshooting is required. Otherwise, continue troubleshooting below.
  8. Try using the remote control at varying distances from the TV. IMPORTANT: Using the remote control too close or too far away may prevent the IR signal from reaching the TV.
  9. Turn the Light Sensor setting to OFF.
    1. On the TV itself, press the HOME button on the TV.
    2. Using the up arrow or down arrow select Preferences.
    3. Press the INPUT button.
    4. Press the up arrow or down arrow to select ECO.
    5. Press the INPUT button.
    6. Use the up arrow or down arrow to select Light Sensor.
    7. Press the INPUT button.
    8. Press the up arrow or down arrow to select OFF.
    9. Press the INPUT button.
  10. Power reset the TV.
  11. Make sure the TV has the latest system software (firmware) update installed, if applicable.
The troubleshooting steps above should resolve the issue. If you completed all the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required or the remote control may need replaced. Contact the Customer Experience Center at (239) 768-7547 to speak with a service representative for further assistance.

My toshiba TP48E60 model projection tv won' turn on, power light just blinks

Blinking of power LED are fault indications. Count the number of blinks occur at one time switch on. For this number, you can get an idea about the faulty section circuit inside it. It will make troubleshooting much narrower. If you wish to get more details about the blinking codes, check this link. Pull up older posts there.

Will a 3.4 IR remote work in place of a 3.1 IR remote

It should work, provided has setup codes for your device. Check whether there is setup codes for the device do you want to programme with it. You can get this information from the code list of the remote control; you have purchased. If there is no code found, you can just search for a code.
  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.

Manual switch ok but remote not fundtion sharo tv

Be assured that fault does not lie with the remote handset itself. In that case repair or replace it.Remote control system has two parts. One is the remote hand set and the other lies within the TV or other device for which remote controller is being used. The hand set transmits commands in shape of singnals of particular frequency and pulses per second depending on the key pressed. The other part of the remote system lying within the TV receives, decodes and responds according to the commands received in shape of signals of particular frequency and pulses of paricular width and sequence. The remote controller uses invisible infra red light as the carrier of the signal. As the light moves in straight path, no obstacles should block straight line of sight path between the remote hand set (the transmitter) and IR sensor window (part of the receiver). Hence remove the blockage from the front side of the TV.Check if the IR sensor is not defective. Check if the associated circuit and components inside the TV are not defective.Check if the TV has any switch for selecting only manual mode and locking the remote mode.Hope, some sytematic exercise will bear the successful result.
