Go to Settings>Initial Setup and scroll down until you see Master reset (for settings only) and Master clear (for erasing everything in your phone and restoring it to its original state or setup). You can choose any of this.
You do have to have a SIM card in the phone to do the Master Reset/Master clear. If you take it to the nearest AT&T store they should be able to put a SIM card in it long enough to do a master reset for you!
Caution: Master clear erases all information you have entered (including phonebook and datebook entries) and content you have downloaded (including photos and sounds) stored in your phone’s memory. After you erase the information, you can’t recover it. Clear all settings and entries you made except SIM card information, erase downloaded pictures and sound files, and
reset all options except unlock code, security code, and lifetime timer:
Try a master Reset.
To perform a master reset on the handset, follow these steps: NOTE: A master reset restores the original factory settings and can erase all downloaded content, including ringtones, camera images, contacts stored in the handset memory, and Java™ applications. It does not erase data stored on the SIM card or memory card. Back up all necessary data on the handset memory before proceeding.
From the main screen, select Main Menu.
Scroll to and select Settings.
Scroll to and select Initial Setup.
Scroll to and select Master Reset.
Enter the security code.
NOTE: The default security code is 000000 (six zeros).
Press the red End key to exit and return to the main screen.
