Question about Computers & Internet
Hi my laptop went off on its own and wont come back on. but when i press the power button the power light and wireless comes on, but to life on the system no hard drive noise or fan noise just a black screen. if i leave the laptop pluged into the wall for long it gets warm like it normaly does but its dead? any idears I have a 5 year old vgn-s260, lately, as I try to turn it on, power light goes on, wireless indicator goes on, but hardrive light won't light up. Since nothing happens on screen nor other indication of it being on, I have to force-turn-off by pressing the power buttom for a few seconds; then repeat the maneuver several times until it does turn on, it may take several minutes and sometimes I quit without success.
The most likely problem is that your Hard Drive has Died.
If you can readily access another Laptop HDD, try it and see.
Other than that, I'd say the Motherboard has decieded to give up the Ghost.
Just Remember, A Laptops life expectancy is 3 years, after that you are treading on thin ice keeping Important Documents on it.
