Re: linksys install cd will not load any suggestions
Since the setup CD is not working, you can manually configure the router by accessing its setup page , and if you're not familiar with that it will be better if you can contact Linksys tech support so a tech can wlak you through with the process this is there number 800-3267114 they are open 24/7....

Are you trying to setup Linksys router? You can run the installation CD to setup Linksys router or you can do it without installation CD also. Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. Open the setup page of the router. Change the Internet connection settings. Create a new wireless network. Connect to the network.
Are you trying to run the CD that comes with the router? I think you can try to setup your router manually instead of running CD. WRT160N router has issues with the firmware so I will suggest you to upgrade the firmware of WRT160n router first. See how to setup Linksys WRT160N router
You can setup Linksys router without installation CD or software. Connect the computer to the router and open the setup page of the router. Change the Internet and wireless settings manually. I will suggest you a website on How to setup Linksys wireless router. This website may help you installing your router
For that right click on my computer icon then click on property then hardware-<device manager. Then you can see all driver list click on network adapter and enable it. You can configure your router without disk too.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Click on WAN settings and set those settings as your internet service provider settings. Enable DHCP if you want to get ip from router. Click on wireless settings enable wireless then enable WEP Security then add WEP code .It is your password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router. One solution is to use a cabled connection to the router so you can download the drivers from Linksys. You really don't need it, since WPA2 is supported in the latest version of XP and Vista. Just set the router up via its webpage and select WPA2, put a good long password in there, and use the same password for you laptop.
