Making sound kind of like Geiger counter

Bought refurbished hp d530 SFF. 2G mem, (added 1) making sound like geiger counter, more or less, when "computing", for lack of better word. Never had one before. Seems to work fine. Is this normal? What is the sound?

A light soft click noise when the drive access data is ok, as some brands are worse at this then others. if it does it alot then Thats the sound of a harddrive thats about to fail. I would backup the data you want to save.

this is what a bad harddrive sounds like

What is causing the "geiger counter" sound near the speakers near the left and right ends of the dashboard?

I would suspect that the unit is picking up ignition sparks possible from a lead flashing over. The voltage variations will be picked up by the antenna and comes through as a stop sound. Have it checked out at a radio shop

Today i woke up with my clock beside me and it was making a strange clicking noise. it sounded like a Geiger counter and it keeps doing it once and a while. i really don't think the techs at RCA could fit...

There are two speakers. Disconnect the one at the bottom that looks like a coin with glue on it. As far as I know it does nothing because the alarm and the radio go through the other speaker. Crackling noise solved.

Ice maker suddenly stopped working. It makes strange noises intermittently, sometimes sounding like a Geiger counter. It no longer draws water. What can I do to diagnose & fix the problem?

If it's a wireless system, the circuits are drifting off frequency or could be picking up interference from just about anything. If not wireless, you probably have a part (transistor or chip) inside that is developing noise by itself.
