HItachi convergence problem - blue only

Hi, I have an Hitachi 51F500 projection TV. I appear to have a convergence problem of some sort. The blue is off by quite a bit. I tried magic focus and manual convergence w/ no luck. When I unplug the component input b (of rby) I get no effect. When I uplug the others, the colors change. almost like the blue input is not registing into the TV. Same problem w/ DVD input and Dish input so I think it is a TV issue.

Ended up having a tech replace the STK 392-110 for blue. A resistor was also blown. Good thing I didn't try replacing myself.....not much experience w/ soldering on circuit boards.

Replace both of your STKs 392-110s use 180s.

wondering why you gave me a rating of helpfull when indeed i told you extactly what was wrong and i am sure he had to replace 3 resistors that burn out of range low ohm 2.7ohm 3.3 ohm 3.9 ohm from now on i am not giving out any FREEE ADVICE>!!!!!!!!!!

Hitachi 51F500 magic focus wont work, blue has "dropped", when I use the magic focus on auto it does nothing, when I use manual focus the grid has the blue scooped down and I can't seem to get it back in...

Sounds like your blue convergence module is faulty along with a few resistors. There is two convergence modules in your set(stk-392-020) and when one fails, the both of them are usually replaced with a matched pair .If you have a good knowledge of electronic you may replace them yourself.otherwise you`ll need the help of a tv repairman. My Hitachi TV Model #51F500 is showing shadows and double lettering (in other words a terrible picture). Please help.

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!
