The Eject button on my Acer4820T doesn't work

Hi
It might just be stuck. If you view the CD/DVD drive from the fron you'll see a small hole. Use a needle or paperclip and press gently into the hole and it should open. You can also try the following
Open My computer Right Click on the CD/DVD drive in question Click on Eject and it should open. If not there might be some damage to the internals of the CD/DVD drive. You can still open it with the paperclip trick

My Toshiba Satelite laptop with Vista constantly looses the CD/DVD drive.. If I reboot it comes back, but as soon as I put a cd in the drive, it disapears again ..It will not load anything from the drive...

Hi there.
This is a common problem with vista loosing the CD/DVD drives.
Do this >>>>>> right click on "computer" and select "manage" from the sub menu, then select "device manager" from the left hand side, it will generate a list of devices, look down the list for CD/DVD and click on the + icon next to it, from the drop down list right click and uninstall, restart the PC and let vista re-install the drivers for you, then try to use the CD/DVD.
If this does not work please post back.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Dvd disk drive not showing in my computer

Hi!

The chances are that the drivers for them got corrupted and you can install them fron your motherboard cd. To install them go to Control panel-> add new hardware-> search for new hardware-> if it shows up then its good else add them from the list. It will then install the drivers from your motherboard cd (the cd you got with your system or from the cd you got with your disk drive).

If this doesn't help then check for the connectors(going into disk drive from power supply and motherboard) by opening your pc.

Please rate the solution.

Thanks

Compaq Presario V6000 dvd rom drive disapeared.

This has happened to me since I bought the machine. You need to reinstall your DVD driver. Go to your systems window, selected devices, select drives. You should see the DVD drive (probably a Toshiba). Uninstall the drive. You will be prompted to restart the machine. When it restarts the DVD will operate normally. I use my DVD-R alot and I have to reinstall the driver every couple of weeks.
