IP address conflict results from two network capable units having the same IP address. Since this is an access point, my first question would be : how do you have it connected? Is the AP being used to extent the signal from the router or is it connected directly to the cable modem? If it is connected to the cable modem, that would be the cause of the IP address conflict. The Access Point only broadcasts one IP address. It needs to be set up as a wireless access point with the MAC address of the router, in order to broadcast more then one IP address.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

    Thanks, Joe

If you Router has DHCP running then please check that no any computer which you conect has Static Ip configured.

There are few viruses around as well which cause the ip conflicts in the networks...

IPv6 is upgraded from IPv4 (Internet protocol).. Its implemented in 1994 this adres is stored in DNS, it is no way connection with the printer, when the printer is connected through lan net work, auto IP adress will assign by the DNS server depend up on the settings.. you can change the desire IP adress with the family range. If the printer is not showing IPv6 adress, system administrator can help you in this regards depens upon their permissions. Selected printer IP adress ahould be with in the family range and no IP conflict definately printer will work..

IP Conflicts in a work place

An IP address conflict occurs when two computers on a LAN or the Internet have been assigned the same IP. IP conflicts between two computers normally render either one or both of them unusable for network operations.

How IP Address Conflicts Happen

Two computers can acquire conflicting IP addresses in any of several ways:

· A system administrator assigns two computers on the LAN the same Static IP Address.

· A system administrator assigns a computer a static IP address within the local network's DHCP range (dynamic IP range), and the same address is automatically assigned by the LAN DHCP server.

· A malfunction in the network's DHCP server allows the same dynamic address to automatically be assigned to multiple computers.

· An ISP accidentally assigns two customers the same IP address (either statically or dynamically).

· A mobile computer is put into standby / hibernate mode and then awakened later.

Note that other forms of IP conflicts can also occur on a network. For example, one computer may experience an IP address conflict with itself if that computer is configured with multiple Network Adapters. System administrators may also create IP conflicts by accidentally connecting two ports of a network switch or router to each other.

Recognizing IP Address Conflicts

On most Microsoft Windows computers, if you attempt to set a fixed (static) IP address that is already active on the local network, you will receive the following pop-up error message:

The static IP address that was just configured is already in use on the network. Please reconfigure a different IP address.

On newer Microsoft Windows computers having dynamic IP conflicts, you should receive a balloon error message in the Taskbar as soon as the operating system detects the issue:

There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network.

Sometimes, especially on older Windows computers, a message similar to the following may instead appear in a pop-up window:

The system has detected a conflict for IP address...

On Mac or Linux computers, a similar message will normally appear on screen.

Resolving IP Address Conflicts

Try the following remedies for IP conflicts:

1. For networks where IP addresses are fixed (statically assigned), ensure each local host is configured with a unique IP address.

2. If your computer has a dynamically assigned address, releasing and renewing its IP address can workaround IP address conflicts.
3. If your home router is believed to have a faulty DHCP server causing IP conflicts on the home network, upgrading the router firmware may resolve this problem.

My ip adress is gone of laptop how do i fix it

Normally IP Address is assigned by your router which then also provides gateway and dns settings. On the IP address screen, select Obtain automatically for both IP and DNS.

If this does not solve your problem, please explain fully what the problem is.

I fix the ip adress, sub-net mask and gateway adress already but it still can't print ands coming out check the following item and (103).my printer is ricoh aficio 2027

From what you say i think you have an IP conflict.
Unplug your machine and ping that IP address to see if you have response.
If you have a response it is because you already have this IP configured in other equipment.
You can also make shore if the network card of the machine is working. Plug a cable directly to the machine and see the result.
If you have any more doubt reply to me or post a new question.
See you

Hello,

The Problem you are having comes up because you probably put on your router before putting on your Computers, including your laptop.

What I would advise you to do is that, always try to put on your Computers first, before turning on your router.

This will make your router to dynamically distribute IP Adresses to your computers and therefore reduce conflict.

And if at any time, you make a mistake of putting on you router before your PC, just switch off your router for 2 Minutes and switch it back on.

It will enable your router to renew IP Adresses to all your Computers without having conflict.

Then Always remember to make your Computers Obtain IP Address Automatically, and your Router Should be set to use DHCP.

This Solution is an exact solution that I used in my office last week, so its proved to work.

Hope this helps you out.

Keep me posted about the problem.

Goodluck

The phone is looking for the calsrv ip address, which it cant see. So it is trying to "Dsicover" it.

Go to another phone and press "mute"ADDR#

You can then see the ip address information and input it into the phone that is incorrect.

System error

Your computer and another computer are sharing the same ip address. Unplug your modem for 5 minutes than plug it back in, this should change your ip adress and inturn fix your problem. If this fails than unplug your modem for 8 hours (overnight) and that should definetly change your ip address. If that fails than call your internet service provider and they can walk you through the steps to change it manually. I could explain the procedure but its better if they walk you through it step by step.
Let me know how it goes. Good luck.

Since you have one computer connected, try to go to linksys website. I think it is a problem with your IP adresses. If you connected your laptop and it is using the IP adress of one of the two computers, and you turn on one of your desktop, Maybe, there is one IP adress reserved and there is a conflict.
Only an hypothese...
