Runco Cl 610 keeps shutting down

I have 1300 hours on my bulb and it keeps shutting down, projector lamp and temp go solid red, fan appears to be working

Our original bulb on our CL610 only lasted 800 hours. We replaced the bulb, then a few months later (4 months out of the 2 year warranty) the projector completely quit. It has been at Runco for the past 2 months and they want to charge us $1,250 to fix it. We have heard this is a common defect but Runco refuses to cover it. "Runco - the world's WORST home theater products." We paid $7,000 for this piece of ****, and it lasted 2 years and 4 months.

I also have a shut down problem. It was a fan problem. Runco replaced under warranty 8 months ago, but the problem has now returned.

On the cl-610 it would shut down after about 5 minutes of running..as well as having to replace the customers bulb. so I took a look at the cooling system there are two fans which work fine, but there is a type of vent inside attached to the body of the projector it seems to have some back pressure if my words are right causing the fans to return the heated air back into the projector forcing the fast shutdown and lessening the life of the bulb. so as a test I removed the directional vent and I blew into it and most of the air came back rather that went out so I left it out and the projector has been running flawless for the last two days. might be time for a redesign on that directional vent cover. but check it for yourself first. if this has helpped please let me know.

My projector goes blank every one minute

This is most likely the lamp. Replace the lamp and then in the setup menu you need to reset the lamp hours to zero. If you have replaced the lamp then you need to still reset the lamp hours to zero. If you do not it will never stay on longer than that hour. If both of these have been done and it is still doing this then it is over heating and this could be caused by lack of air flow (clean filters) or a bad power board.

DLP TV shuts down

If you find your DLP TV is shutting down intermittedly, it may be just a simple lamp gone bad. Follow your user guide to remove the lamp, check for visible damage or parts that have burst inside the lamp bulb itself, if so, go online to order a new lamp and replace it. Just enter your model number and the word "lamp" into the google search, order it and when it arrives, replace it the same way you took out the old one. Make sure you order the lamp "with housing" which is a little more expensive, but much easier to replace. Good luck!

Projector Beep Alerts

When a projector beeps on power up you have a couple things to be concerned about. If the projector is hot, the beeps can mean that it needs longer to cool down.

If you have not used the projector for several hours then it is cooled down. When cold, the beep alerts usually mean the blower fan bearing is restricted.

Clean the air filter and blow out the fan housing. You should just blow with your mouth because compressed air may damage your wiring connections.

If the projector is cleaned and you power it back up AND the beeps continue listen to the fan. The fan may need a little air pressure to help it start turning and then once it does the beeps should stop.

Tip

Buying Projector Lamps/Bulbs

Be careful on buying the cheapest projection lamp. When lamps are made for a certain projector manufacture the lamps sent to them pass a certain quality threshold. Some lamps that do not pass the quality requirements are sold to independent vendors. A lamp not bought from the manufacture may not last the hours you expect from it.

Dwin transvision 4 projector lamp will not light even after changing the bulb. It also looks like Dwin went out of business. Any options to fix?

Call Interlight @ 219-989-0060 and read them what the part # is on the bulb inside the cage. They can probably supply you with the lamp and you simply reuse your cage.

They were able to do this for me

Problem with SAMSUNG HT-X20!!

The fan is going bad and when u play dvd's the spining of the cd is acting as a fan witch is why they play longer then any other mode i had the same problem 2 times the second time samsung wanted 160$!!! thats bull because it keeps going out so what u do is open the case and remove the cover over all the capaciters and whatnot and replace that fan in the back then cut a hole in the top of the metal case directly about the cap's that warm up and install a aditional fan to act as a chimney a little noisy but i did this and the player had been runing in aux and radio mode for a few days stright now no problems at all it's alot of work and skill but for 2 5-15 dolar fans sure beats the 160 for repair or buying a new recever!
