Re: omega seamaster

Sounds like an auto wind watch, you must wear this watch most of the day to keep it wound wind the crown must be pushed all the way in.

Set date on omega seamaster quartz 1425

When you pull the crown (winder) , you will notice it has two positions (two clicks). The first click is for quick date setting, the second click is for time setting (moving hands). Second click can be use for date setting as well, but for this you need to move watch hands forward for 24 hours to pass 12 o'clock.

I have purchased a seamaster model 2561.80 and I cannot pull out the crown to position 2 or 3 in order to set the time or change the date.

Try turning the crown to unlock it before you pull it. Some higher end watches have screwed down crowns for keeping out water and dust.DB
Hope this helps. If not I'll but it for a buck ... Really it should solve your problem

The 24 hour hand sticks at the 12 oclock posiion on my omega seamaster gmt every 24 hours the hour hand will not pass this position.

It sounds as though the 24hr hand is being obstructed, and that is also stopping the 12hr hand. Try to examine the face carefully for foreign objects (or bent hands). Unless you're very skilled with watches, I would suggest that you take it for repair. If the hands are sticking, gently pull out the crown ("winder") to stop the watch and prevent further damage.

I have an omega watch thats winding knob came off, now the spring is exposed and i cannot put it back on, how do i fix it?

Unfortunately you can not fix it yourself. If the spring came out, that means your winding knob (real name is CROWN) has been worned out and the friction fitting no longer can keep it in working order. AS THE CROWNS FOR ALL WATCHES ARE MADE BY MACHINES, NO WATCH REPAIRS CAN BE SUCCESSFULL. All you can do is to go to local OMEGA dealer shop and ask for replacement. Be prepaired to pay more than you think. OMEGA parts for replacemebt cost dearly.

Hi, my omega seamaster planet ocean has stopped. it has the co axial movement. is this serious? How do i get it restarted as it wil not with winding etc, thanks rob

Hi Rob, Don't worry if it's a genuine Omega and hasn't been subjected to serious abuse then whatever the problem may be it won't be terminal. All mechanical watches, particularly high quality watches such as this should be serviced every two to three years and in this case ONLY by a qualified Omega service person. Cause may be a simple as lubrication however the low fiction properties of these watches are fundamental to their revolutionary design. It may have become magnetised, or any number of things may have occurred to have caused it to stop. If you cannot wind it via the crown then the mainspring is wound by movement. Try shaking it for 15 to 20mins and if it doesn't restart take it to an authorised Omega repair service. Jo

How do I manually wind my Omega Seamaster Automtic Plz

I'll make it easy and with a little fun for you!
First -lets assume that the winding crown of your watch is the one of the weels fitted on the car.
Imagine the car which is driving across your watch dial from point 6 (six o'clock) to point12 (twelve o'clock).
Which way the weel of the car is turning?
So, the winding of the watch is executed exactly in the same direction as the weel turn of that car when it goes from point 6 to point 12.
When you wind the watch in that direction, the winding pinion and the clutch wheel (both are parts of setting gear) gets engaged and through the gears turns the barrel which is housing the mainspring.
When you turn the winding crown in opposite direction, the winding pinion and the clutch weel gets disengaged due to the specially angled weel teeth and no action in the setting gear is taken. All you hear is just a rapid clicking sound when the wheel teeth are jumping over each other.
I hope this is Fixya.

Omega seamaster gmt

what you have to do is that pull the crown to halfway do not pull completely out, if you pull halfway out and then move the crown to clockwise or anti clockwise it will change the date. if you pull completely out then it will change the time.

Time delay

try manually winding it if you can, and see if it still happens. If it does it probably needs to be sent in for service
