Question about iRiver H10 MP3 Player

1 Answer

I have been having a problem with my iriver h10 freezing up. It happens mostly when I am trying to fast forward but now it's happening as I scroll through artists or albums. It will just stop on a selection and do nothing.

for tips on fixing the H10 with problems -- try this website.

From what i have seen, your scrollbar is in need of replacement. Need to buy a cheap as-is unit from ebay, get tools to open your H10, and replace the defective part.

Iriver, H10 , system files missing

iRiver H10 - Missing System Files
You must be connected to the internet for this to work: 1.Download the MTP Firm Updater Utility from iriver website - iriverinc.com/support (Audio Jukebox --> H10) 2. Unzip file, run .exe file, go thorugh wizard (if you are not in mass storage mode, it will give you instructions on the wizard on how to change this) 3. Select Recovery 4. Finish going through wizard 5. disconnect iRiver from computer, and wait for it to update - your player should be good.
If the problem happens again, then uninstall Windows Media Player 11 from your computer and rollback to Windows Media Player 10 (you will NOT lose any songs by doing so).
Good luck!

IRiver H10

I can not do anything with my iRiver as it only says "System Files Missing" and "Connect to iRiver plus II" which I have done but nothing happens. I do not want to loose the songs on my iRiver.

IRiver H10-

What you need to do is set it on "Disk Mode" and check the firmware. Most problems like this occur due to missing or added files on to your firmware files. This corrupts the entire system, causing it to have strange malfunctions like yours.

don't panic!

Freezing during Synchronization

This link at thw bottom will let you check for operating software updates - try this and see if it solves your problem. If not, try ripping your cd's first using a media player or dedicated ripping program (there are many) (my recommendation is windows media player, but set rip type to mp3 not wma) then try to sync with your h10. If this doesn't work then make sure that all the tracks you are trying to sync at the same time are in only one directory with no subdirectories or non-audio files http://www.iriver.com/html/support/download/sudw_view.asp?searchProductIdx=61&searchCategoryIdx=&searchString=&page=1&idx=739&tmpSearchProductIdx=&tmpSearchCategoryIdx=&tmpSearchString=

Iriver H10 20GB

They don't make a battery for the player. My experience with iriver is that they only replace your player with another refurbished one if it's under warranty. Contact iriver.com and go to support, they will help you to a certain point. Sounds like some music files are corrupted, did you download them from Limewire? Lots of nasty stuff out there. Remember your player is a Hard Drive just like your PC and can be damaged by improper disconnect from your PC. Regards, John H.

Iriver H10 Scroll Pad Sticking

My Daughter's iRiver scroll pad must be stuck...it just keeps scrolling. She says nothing happened to it. Never got wet etc. I am going to attempt to open it and see what it looks like. The one post says it is very easy, but gives no information. I called the company and they have no USA service centers at all...so if it is out of warranty you are out of luck. They say they hope to have a repair center soon...but it sounds like a company running out of a garage. Good luck and buy some other brand.
