I dont quite know but if you still have the software if not http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp there is the website to get it. If you use that software you should be able to see what songs it has on it and take them all off.
And put a couple of songs on from a different selection on it (none from the original sync) and use the software to put it on and see if that works.

Since you have this type of problem the best way to solve this is to format the player, if you have a format option on your mp3 player menu you can use that, but if not just connect the mp3 player to your computer and format it from there....
My daughter received an ibratz mp3 player for xmas and same with us having transferred music to mp3 but when trying to play there is great nothingness! the players says the files are there but there is no authority!!
I bought an Ipod shuffle 2nd generation yesterday, it charged all night and orange light was still blinking. Tried listening to songs and sometimes it would play but most times wouldn't. Took it back for exchange and same problem. Then I realized the problem is not with the USB plug or computer reoconizing ipod but in the docking itself. I applied pressure on the top side of docked Ipod and bottom of docking station and the computer recognized the Ipod. Release pressure and lose connection. The problem is that the docking station and earbuds do not connect with ipod and the fixes provided by apple doesn't address or fix this problem.
had the same prob with th1100 (512 mb ver) went to rca site, downloaded firmware upgrade. ran it 3 times with no result. finally checked the box "format data area" worked like a charm. hope this helps.
