Re: tv picture is jumping
Unfortunately, JVC service manuals are not usually available outside of Authorized service centers. That being said, anyone that services TVs should have seen similar symptoms on other sets and should be able to "fix" this one even without a schematic. Call around. In the meantime, I'll look into this a bit more.

hi this as a problem with your convergence ic they will need replacing this is a common fault with these types of tv nearly every problem on this site is the same as yours eventually your telly will stop working all together but if this happens you will then need to replace some resistors as well as these tend to go with the convergence ics so this will also need to be checked if you are unable to do this repair yourself then the cheapest way is to take the telly to repair shop yourself as calling someone out will charge call out and will also charge for transporting witch can ad 75 pound onto the price of repair. It is very common problem so the repair shop should have no problem sourcing parts for you best thing to do is shop around and get the best price you can tell them what the problem is and this will stop them charging for finding the fault just say someone looked at it for you and told you what needed repairing as sometimes they will try confusing you with unecasarry repairs let me know if you can do the repair yourself but only if you have correct equipment to test all parts needed hope this is some help to you
Tv have jumping picture and go out are not the projection lamp problems."Jumping" Horizontal or Veritical high votage area circuitries have dead parts, must hire a tv tech. to trouble shoot and replaced parts to solved "H" or "V" hold tv to work.Tries many tvs shops, tries get the prices best qoutes and get it repair.
If the TV only flashes red and green sporadically, it could simply be a loose connection inside the TV that connects to the picture tube. If the TV remains red or green, then the problem could be the tube or one of the circuits that control one (or more) of the colors.
Your best bet is to take it to a reputable TV repair shop. If it is simply a loose connection, it won't cost very much to have it fixed. If the problem is more advanced, at least the shop will be able to inform you.
At that point you can decide if the cost of repair compares favorably to getting a new TV.
Sounds like a vertical sync issue on the chassis board. However you also mentioned the picture moves left to right or vice versa which would suggest a horizontal sync issue. Either issue is not repairable by the DIY. Sync issues must be isolated using test equipment usually found in repair shops. My suggestion push it down a hill and enjoy the show then go buy that flat screen you almost purchased last week.
There is not more knobs for V hold so there is a circuit in its place that is going out and needs repaired and it is worth it because these TV are great when they are fixed it will get worse do not bang on it your going to loosen the part that is going out and may cause it to heat up and the list goes on.. take it in you be glad you did if this info helps please rate it fixya thanks
ANy way you look at it you'll have to take it to the shop. A tech can use the secret service menu to adjust the vertical & horizontal size. Or you may have whopped up B+ issue, that could be hard to find so replacing the deflection board woul;d solve that, hope this helps.
