I watched the tv for over an hour this morning. i came back 2 hours later and it will not turn on. i've unplugged it, plugged it back in, plugged it in somewhere else and still nothing. what could the problem be?
also, i've only has the unit for 2.5 years and didn't think the tube would go out for many, many years. is there an affordable solution or am i out of luck?

Try unplugging the TV.. After you plug it back in it may be OK. I had a similar problem were I could not turn on the TV (JVC). The owners manual specified in the troubleshooting section to unplug for 1/2 hour. I left it unplugged overnight and the next day plugged it in and it was fine.
Tries tv unplug, replug it back like about an hour later. All ur tv setting will be resetting,tv should work in full screen again.Unplug, replug the cable box back like an hour too,if this tv it hook up to a cable box.
A temporary solution is to unplug the TV for a few minutes, remove static from the glass with your hand. It is important to unplug rather than turn off. If you have a degauss button you can also press that before unplugging. Wait several minutes or an hour. Then plug it back in. If you have Picture in Picture it may be an issue with that and to permanently solve may need a repair person. The unplugging may get you by for a few days at a time. That's at least better than an hour.
