Does not turn on

I watched the tv for over an hour this morning. i came back 2 hours later and it will not turn on. i've unplugged it, plugged it back in, plugged it in somewhere else and still nothing. what could the problem be? also, i've only has the unit for 2.5 years and didn't think the tube would go out for many, many years. is there an affordable solution or am i out of luck?

Re: does not turn on

For sure its not a CRT problem! you have a problem in power supply and/or high voltage. i suggest you bring it to a technician.

TV won't come back after pushing wrong button on remote.

Try unplugging the TV.. After you plug it back in it may be OK. I had a similar problem were I could not turn on the TV (JVC). The owners manual specified in the troubleshooting section to unplug for 1/2 hour. I left it unplugged overnight and the next day plugged it in and it was fine.

My sony wega keeps cutting off then coming back .

a couple of years old can be a long time:

has the TV been on 24\7

It's the amount of hours that matters..

electrolytic capacitors typically last 3000 to 5000 hours....

Special "long life" caps last close to 7000
but the caps in most consumer electronics, even broadcast equipment 3-5K hours.

Picture goes off

A temporary solution is to unplug the TV for a few minutes, remove static from the glass with your hand. It is important to unplug rather than turn off. If you have a degauss button you can also press that before unplugging. Wait several minutes or an hour. Then plug it back in. If you have Picture in Picture it may be an issue with that and to permanently solve may need a repair person. The unplugging may get you by for a few days at a time. That's at least better than an hour.

Tv wont turn on

take your tv to technician who can check your power supply, if your power is coming on and off, than a problem is not as big. firstly let him check a ht of a supply constantly, your supply is cutting.
