SOURCE: contact info for sonic impact technologies???

I purchased Sonic Impact portable ipod speakers from Target in November. I have been having problems with the speakers and have also been unable to reach them. I tried email and the phone # on their web site. I also tried the number listed on the warranty card and could not get through. I contacted Target customer assistance and was told that the manufacturer is no longer in business. It appears that their products are still being sold online. DON'T purchase one!

SOURCE: new unit doesn't charge IPOD when plugged into 110v

make sure you have the cord plugged in to the DC IN 9V outlet in the speakers and not the audio in. Sounds simple but this is what I was doing wrong.

In your quest for:

Connect Yamaha R-V703 receiver to HDMI or Optical output on TV to get 5.1 sound

it may not only adaptors that you need:

• you may need a Digital Audio Decoder for HDMI

like the one from:

http://www.gefen.com/gefentv/gtvproduct.jsp?prod_id=8202

Since the model of the TV is unknown (not stated above)

• which should be connected to a device with ATSC tuner ( OTA )

Pride travel scooter cut s off

This is usually due to the battery "jumping" off the contacts when you go over a bump in the pathway. Put a RUBBER door stop between the battery and the seat post. This fixed mine for all but the huge potholes. Had this fix for 4 years

I need a satellite for internet and how much is it??

Hi,

Improve the Fixya.com experience for everyone by voting!

Unfortunately, I don't know your zip code and therefore can't tell if you are in a rural zone. The Department of Agriculture has a unique rural program that is relatively cheap.

However, there are a couple of options that I can recommend:

Click on the following link for a $40.00 per month satellite service - Internet Satellite Service

AT&T has a service called Laptop Connect that will provide you service in any location that has cellular service. This is great if you travel a lot and it costs $50 per month. Click on the following link to connect with the AT&T descriptive page: AT&T Laptop Connect

All the best

Hi there, I have a pair of M audio BX5 speakers, one of them works fine, on the other hand, the other one sounds kindda funny. Both of the twitter and the 5-inch cone on it work, the main thing that's...

Little goes wrong with a speaker unless it has either been overloaded or subject to damp, extreme dust or has sustained physical damage from some sort of accident.

A rough test is to move the speaker cone gently through most of it's travel using an even pressure simultaneously on various places around the cone, I use my fingers.
It should move smoothly without any resistance and most importantly it should be completely silent through the largest or smallest movements.

If it sounds scratchy, the speech coil is either off-centre or it has suffered damp or dust and dirt has ingressed into the air gap or the chassis has become distorted.
If it is silent and electrically sound it should produce normal volume.

There was a time when loudspeaker repair, overhaul or adjustment was routine but these days it isn't economic except for the highest quality and replacement is best.

After gaining access to the interior wiring of the speaker cabinet I suggest further testing it by wiring it direct and leaving out the crossover if it has one.

My Sony RDR - HDC500 DVD/HDD player only displays WELCOME and using the rest button has no effect along with unplugging the AC supply overnight.

Hello,
Unplug it - hold all x3 buttons on the front down when you plug it back in (Eject, Play & Stop). Let go after a couple of seconds & it will go into a factory menu mode.
Select option 5 then option 1 for factory reset.
Power off then back on & you will have to set the basic options and scan for channels again. *** YOU WILL NOT LOSE ANY RECORDED PROGRAMS ***
Have had x2 new motherboards while in warranty then a 3rd 3 months out of warranty to allegedly fix this issue.
Is very good when working but tarnishes the Sony name for me. I even had to pay for the 3rd motherboard ! Customer service was shocking in my experiance.
Good luck - I'm on my 2nd reset as above, seems to occur every 4 months...

Can i use umbrella stroll for 5 month old baby? i

No you cannot........umbrella strollers are for toddlers aged 12 months and up. A 5 month child cannot sit upright to begin with. If you are flying, then request for " Bassinet Seating".....these are the front rows of the plane which have place for bassinets to be installed in which your child can sleep during the flight. Also my best suggestion would be to carry your baby in a baby sling or backpack carrier as these may help you carry baby quickly through an airport while in transit. hope this helps!

On lucent amps you sometimes have to bridge two terminals together to make it work. i need to know what two need to be bridged.

I'm not sure if Lucent has a special bridging procedure, but on most if not all other amps, when you bridge you DON'T connect two terminals together. What you do is instead of using the plus and minus terminals on one channel to one speaker and the other +/- terminals to the other speaker, you will instead use the plus (+) terminal from one channel and the minus (-) terminal from the other channel to drive one speaker and the remaining + and - terminals remain unconnected. Be sure you use the + and - terminals that are marked for bridging. Please note, that when you bridge that your speaker load DOUBLES to EACH channel. In other words, what your amp saw as a 4 ohm speaker going to one channel alone, it now sees as a 2 ohm speaker on each channel when bridged. Be sure you know what you are doing before you bridge and fry your amp. In my experience, if after bridging your amp works fine for about a month and then fries then you bridged wrong and ended up with the wrong speaker load on each of the bridged channels. Be careful. Amps cost a lot to repair. Good luck.

Speakers popping

Call LG if they are in warranty, should be after 4 months. Try reseating all connections including power, or changing cables. If it shows on all of your speakers, If it doesn't move with one or more speakers, you probably have a leaky capacitor in your reciever and will need to return it for repair or replacement. Hopefully its not just the receiver choosing to spike an amp channel at will. Could possibly be an electrical appliance in your home causing the noise by switching on and/or off. Have somebody walk around your home turning things on and off to see if your receiver is affected. If nothing pops, it very well could be your receiver. An experiment to try is using a different power outlet. Use a long heavy duty extension cord if needed. You want to get power from a different circuit. If that doesn't fix it, try a UPS device (like those used on computers). This will isolate you from the power line, and hopefully from the pops.
