How do I open disk drive on my acer laptop 17883

Three ways:-
1. Select drive on Windows file explorer, right click and select "Eject"
2. Press the button on the drive opening.
3. There is usually a small pinhole on the drive opening, you can push the end of a paper clip in there to manually release the drive and open it.

All folders open with realplayer

if you want a different player , just select a file and while pressing the Shift button press right click mouse button and go to open with and choose default .. select a preferred software and make sure the check the " always use the selected program " and then all files will be open afterwards with the selected software . but be noted it will only open from that selected file format . for example it can be avi so all files with the same format will open with the software you selected so you have to repeat this process just 3 to four times since there are so many vids with different formats

How do i get the cd drive to open on an acer aspire ax3400-b4802??? as if i wanted to put a cd in it...i can see where it goes but theres no opening?

It depends on the drive model but there is usually a 'button' on the drive door: while the unit is power up, just press it to open the cd/dvd drive bay.

Hope it helps.

How to insert dvd in acer 5538

Since there is no external drive bay button on the Acer 5538, you either insert a paperclip or similar object into the pinhole on the optical drive door until it opens or...open the 'Start' menu, click 'Computer' (1/2-way down under the user picture), highlight the 'DVD RW drive' and mouse click 'eject' under the top-screen toolbar. I hope this helps.

My cd drive has diapeared

First, if the CD drive uses an expansion bay on the laptop, remove it (with the power off) and reinsert it to make sure it is seated correctly. Power on the system, enter the BIOS setup program and check to see if it has been recognized again. If it is not being recognized here, the drive is defective and needs to be replaced. If the drive appears in BIOS, allow the computer to boot and check to see that the drive is appearing under My Computer. If not, open the Device Manager, click on the View menu and make sure that Show hidden devices is checked. Open the CD/DVD-ROM Drives section. You should see an entry for your disc drive and it may be dimmed. Right-clicking and selecting Properties from the context menu will probably indicate that the device is not currently connected to the computer (Code 45). If so, right-click on the computer name and select Scan for hardware changes in the context menu. If this does not detect and initialize the drive properly, the device is probably defective and needs replacement.

Multibay/cd/dvd access

If you look on the side edge of your laptop (more than likely the right side) you should see a CD/DVD drive bay with a small button. Just press that and it should pop out enough for you to finish pulling it out.

The other way to do it is to open "My Computer", right click on the icon that says "CD/DVD" and select "Eject".

Let me know if that helps.
