It says have player 1 start game then player 2 press 'A' and join in.
Doesn't work - am I doing it wrong or is there a trick? I would assumed based on what I've seen that the arcade modes can be 2 player games.
Fixed problem. Had to sync the remote with the Wii system by pushing the red button by the batteries on the remote and the red button on the Wii console under the flap below where the disk is inserted - hadn't done that. Now HOTD works like a charm with 2 players.'

From the Disney/Pixar Toy Story Mania! opening screen, press the 1 button on Player 1 Wii remote to start.
At the "How many players?" (color palette) screen, point to the number of players (1 through 4) and press the A button.
Point to the desired color for each player and press the A button on the corresponding Wii remote. The player's number will be displayed in the color (for example: 1 in yellow, 2 in purple). Point to the green arrow and press the A button to advance.
At the name entry screen (Mr. Spell), starting with Player 1, point to the letters and press the A button to select. Once Player 1's name has been entered, point to "Enter" and press the A button to advance to the next player.
When all players' names have been entered, you may select from Story or Freeplay mode to begin playing. Freeplay mode will only contain games that were previously unlocked in Story mode. For more information on Disney/Pixar Toy Story Mania! game modes, see the game manual.
The thing to get the two Wiimotes to work is to press the reset button on the Wii and on all the Wiimotes at the ame time. If you after that restart the Wii, it should automatically connect to both Wiimotes when you press A on them.
If you then luanch the game, the two Wiimotes should still be connected. If not, just press A again. Then press whatever button you ned for multiplayer (+ I believe) and you shold now have 2 players.
I hopethis helps,
Tried that, but the 2nd remote won't respond when we try to use it to pick second player. My question is why in the world would someone create a game that is sooooo difficult to play!? Picking two players with two remotes shouldn't be so hard to do!!!
You have to start the game then press the home button on the remote. Go to WII and select the menu for the remotes. Click on reconnect. Press the 1-2 buttons on remote #1. When it lights up on the screen, press the 1-2 buttons on remote #2. Select close out remote settings, go back to the game. Select two players and each player can have his/her own remote.
press the house button on the wii remote then you should see something that says reconnect click on that then as it tells you to press the 1 and 2 button at the same time as you press the button press and hold it on both controllers then when its done exit out of the home button then your all set to play!
