Hi Good day!! Maybe you need to clean the head. to do that you need to do the head cleaning.
here are the step:
1. Click "Start
2. Choose "Setting" and then "Printer and Faxes" you should see your printer installed.
3. right click your printer and then properties you should be on the printer properties box
4. Click "Printing Preferences" now you should be on the Printing preferences box. there are 5 tabs go to the "Maintenance tab"
5. Select "Head Cleaning. and then you can start the cleaning of your printer head..
after you clean it try to print again and see if your printing was fine if not you should clean it again back to start.. .

Hope my solution helps you..

Epson 9600 splatering black ink on images mostly on the right side

I have not worked on such a large machine, but it sounds like the ink waste station likely need cleaning. All smaller inkjet printers have silicone wiper blades that clean excess ink off the print head surface, if the blades are heavily saturated in junked up ink they may not be cleaning the print head appropriately. I have cleaned many wiper sleds with warm water and Q-tips, but always on home or SOHO machines. If this is not something you feel comfortable doing, call a professional technician, I'm sure that machine is worth and simple service call.

How to clean the heads

The Epson software that came with the printer should have a utility to clean the print head and then print a test page.

Epson 9600 print head missing numerous nozzels during test print procedure. Tried power clean several times. Do you have a remedy?

You willl probably need to clean the Pump Cap Assy.

You will need a strong flashlight/clip-on lamp to see what you are doing up in the area you are cleaning.

Move the print head to the left side of 9600. (If you need help with this let me know.)

Use a foam tipped swab slightly dampened with warm water to GENTLY wipe around the seal area of the Pump Cap Assy.

DO NOT USE A COTTON TIPPED SWAB !!!

Dip, Blot, & Wipe. Clean the Foam Swab often to wash off the residue it will pick up. Remenber to keep the swab slightly moist - not dripping wet.
---
If this does't help, it generally means that the Print Head is also very clogged with gummy/dried ink.

The Print Head cannot be cleaned without removing the Right Side Cover & then removing the Pump Cap Assy. This removing and cleaning is about a 1.5hr-2hr job for an experienced tech. Anyone with moderate mechanical skills can do it though.

Pump Cap Assy cleaning is usually done BEFORE replacing the Print Head.

If the Print Head cleaning doesn't work then a New Print Head is in order.

Hope this helps ! Good Luck !

My Epson 2200 prints leaving horz bands about every 1/2 inch. I have not usrd the printer for over a year but did install allnew ink.

Your print head probably has crusted ink on it, as the heads are built into Epsons. If you have tried cleaning, deep cleaning, and then priming (the last 2 aren't available on all Epsons), and it is still banding, you have 2 options:
Disassemble the printer and soak the head in alcohol and hope it works OR get a new printer.
Heads on an Epson are too expensive to bother swapping out.

Epson 9600 magenta won't print - have new cap assembly installed

The ink should come out of the cart. if not the cart is the problem at this point try anothere magenta if that does not shore it up then you need to then start looking at the print head where it goes it itself now the store you bought the ink from will give you a replacement no questions asked sometimes even if you dont got the reciept. Try those steps you be glad you did.

Epson 9600 quit printing all colors even when trying to print head alignment, I have pulled off head and cleaned and power cleaned several time.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Epson 9600 suddendly stopped printing yellow

It's NOT a cartridge if this works... I had a similar problem with a 9600 I bought on eBay that had been inoperable over 18 months. Three colors would NOT clear up after multiple power cleanings. Epson support politely solved the issue at no charge on the phone... he had me drop a few drops of warm water on the pad the printhead rests on when not printing. You have to move the printhead to the left to do that by moving up the little lever near the cutter. The pad is easier to reach with a long eye dropper. I used very warm water- not boiling. I replaced the printhead over the warm water pad for an hour. Then I repeated the process and let it be for another 60 minutes. Then I did a nozzle check and what was gummed up yellow, cyan, and magenta nozzles became clear and it's worked fine since. Good luck!
