Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Older whirlpool dryer gets too hot when using automatic setting

This dryer is about 25 years old (model lfe7500n1). It works fine except on the automatic cycle when it gets way too hot regardless of the temperature selection. Using the timed cycle does not seem to have that problem and works fine. Both regular and permanent press cycles malfunction in this manner.

After 25 years, your automatic sensor may be bad. RepairClinic.com might have one. Clean everything inside while you're there.

rollers and or felts are cheap,
much cheaper than a new dryer,
and nobody now makes a dryer that will last 25 years.
I have maytags 1972, 1974, kenmore 1968, speed queen 1980,
in each apartment building used by 11 families, to keep them running costs peanuts

new dryers?, - 3 years is all you get before the $$$ starts

Whirlpool Gas Dryer - Model LGB6200KQ1 Serial # mm2105815 Heat comes and goes. Can heat fine for a few loads then stops. Then starts again. Any ideas

Sounds like it is running Hot, Clean you venting out and make sure the weather hood outside is not blocked.

Vacuum out the lint filter area.

Your dryer also may have worn seals, how old is it? 10 to 12 years running a load a day average? it may be time for a new dryer or rebuild yours.
