Question about Televison & Video
I have purchased a Hailo HDSTB-8000 set top box, when installed and tuned I have a clear picture but no color, even when I bring up the menu there is no color in the menu. The TV it is connected to is a Sony KV-K29SN21 Trinitron Color TV KiRARA BASSO.
I sent the set top box back to the repaires and they could not find a fault, they loaded the upgade soft wear for it and retuned the set top box. Again I connected it too the TV and tuned it in but still no color.
Can you help me?

Try turning down (off) the color during such an episode. If the image is tinted pink or green instead of black and white when you do this, you have either an intermittent short in your CRT (tube), which is terminal,or a gun drive problem, which may be repairable. If you're feeding it component instead of composite signal,it may just be a bad connection of the B-Y cable.

SOURCE: Sony Trinitron 29inch Color TV
The 2 blinks are an indication of over-current. This is usually because of a shorted component. The most common is the horizontal output transistor. This will be a 3-legged part attached to a heat sink close to the flyback transformer (part with red wire coming out the top). This transistor will be marked C4856 or something similar. Update this with the exact marking and I'll provide you with the full part number and approximate cost.

A reset won't fix this. The standby light should be blinking a repeated count with a 3 second pause inbetween. Post that count here. That will indicate the circuit/condition that is preventing the set from turning on.
