**How do I program tax rate into my calculator?**

Non-printing models (also applies to HR-8TE printing calculator):

1. Press [AC]

2. Hold [SET/%] key for about 2 seconds

3. Press [TAX+]

4. Input the tax rate

5. Press [SET/%]

Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

goodluck!

Sorry there is no "reset" for your printing calculator.

volume is calculated by finding the area multiplied by the length or height . That is Pi X radius squared X length

example --tube 6"dia 12"long what is the volume?

Example 3.1417 X radius 3" Squared =3.1417X9sq " = 28.2740sq" X length 12" =338.688 cubic"

If you want the volume of an engine cylinder , it is the same formula and the length is the stroke of the piston ( distance from TDC to BDC )

Circumference of a Circle: 2 x pi x radius - OR - pi x diameter,

or if you need some sphere calculations?

Sphere Surface Area: 4 X pi X radius squared OR

pi X diameter squared Sphere Volume: 4/3 X pi X radius cubed OR

( pi X diameter cubed ) / 6

By the way.......... "pi" = 3.1415926536

Use the words: decimal part, not decimal fractin

**Any number whose decimal part is periodic (has a recurring pattern that repeats indefinitely) is equivalent to a rational number, IS a rational number**

0.345 345 345 ... =345/999=115/333

In the following screen captures, discard the last digit if it does not belong to a period. It is the effect of rounding up of the calculator

**Period is 345**

**Period is 1**

Period is**09**

Period is** 79**

In general, if you have a decimal part of the form 0.d_1 d_2 d_3....d_n d_1 d_2 d_3 ...d_n ... where d_1 is the first digit of the period, d_2 is the 2nd digit of the period, ..., d_n is the n-th digit (and the last one) of the period, then the fraction representation of

0.**d_1d_2...d_n** d_1d_2... d_n ...=(**d_1d_2...d_n**)/(99...9) where the number of 9's in the denominator is equal to the number of digits in the period.

Once the fraction is found, one should reduce it to its simplest form.

454 grammes to a pound ,use the calculator in the computer but roughly that 1cwt or 100 pounds divided by 14 ,which is 14 pounds to one stone ,wow this takes me back to pre decimalisation

The circumference of a circle is C=2 * pi * r or C= pi * d.

What do we know? C=47.1 and pi.

What are we trying to calculate? d

Put what we know in the equation and solve for d.

47.1 = pi * d

To isolate d, we have to divide both sides by pi.

47.1

------ = d

pi

I get 14.99' or approximately 15' as the diameter.

Good luck,

Paul
