There may be a fuse that controlls them internally or the relay that switches them on is not functioning

Microve wILL NOT DO ANY THING COMPLETELY WENT OUT .

  1. Every microwave I've seen has a fuse in the 110 VAC line. Remove the cover or access panels and look for a ceramic or glass tube fuse with metal end caps. Replace with the same value, which is often 20 Amps.

I lost power due to the storm, when power was restored the microve didnt come back on, i checked brekers, and the 20amp fuse inside the unit, everything was good

Make sure that the program controller is working if not check power - step down supply, the pads are responding- if not faulty pads- or the door switches, if the switch contact are not good then it will not trigger the processor to switch on the waveguides. If the lights or fan work without any display or action of program being triggered to start then it can be a possible fault on the main board or the processor. Sometimes insect secretion can short the board and display panel and so the processor can work in such an erratic manner. If so clean, solder and reset the board. Now identify the parts by clicking this link: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/microwave/a/5/141/identifying-microwave-parts.html

If there is no heating please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is faulty, the temperature cut off is faulty or the main capacitor is short. It is also quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron. Just stopped working.

First, Enlist the help from a friend. Second, unplug cord and remove the screws going through cabinet into microwave. Third, tilt microve down and pull off mountind plate. Forth, remove microwave from shell. (Caution even though unplug, capacitor store electrical charge) As you are looking at the front of the microwave, the fuse holder will be directly above and behind the touch key-pad. Remove with an inexpensive fuse puller found at your local hardware store. If you found any of these suggestions helpful, please rate my solution. D. Lange

Microve turns on, but will not heat Model number is FMT148G1B2 Everything seems to work except there's no heat. Clock works, countdown timer, light, turntable, etc., just no heat.

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heats the food.

The cost of the magnetron is about 95% of the cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnetron, they replace the whole oven which is probably what you will end up doing.

There is a possibility that the circuit that provides power to the magnetron is faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it apart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.

Changing light blub of oster microve oven

The lamp is located under the stainless top cover of the microwave which unscrews from the back and sides, the bottom corners in the back have special torx screws which are meant to thwart you from removing them but a pair of locking pliers does the trick. Then under the cover on the top of the microwave there's a black elliptical shaped base with only 1 screw holding it down, that is the lamp. Pull the female spade connectors from the lamp, unscrew it and take it out. Oster has about the worst customer service around so i have not verified that they will sell a replacement lamp but if you can find a 20W 120V replacement with spade connectors that will do.
