If the gun has never been opened, the problem could be a lack of oil or worse, too much of the wrong kind of oil. No oil causes parts to stick. Too much of the wrong kind of oil caused the orings to swell and jamb parts. Carefully open gun to preserve head gasket and check for piston travel all the way down to the bumper. Piston should not be too tight, nor drop to the bottom under its own weight. The driver has a groove on one side that should align with the grove in the nose and it should not be bent. Next check the head valve by pushing the valve into the head with your thumbs. the valve should travel about 3/8 inch. If stuck apply air pressure to hole where gasket sits on head. The valve will pop out. Clean and lube parts replace orings or upper bumper if cracked. Assemble and test. Parts are not expensive at, enjoy

Where do I get staples for a B&D stapler? #9700

There are several brands of staples that will fit your stapler and the price will vary according to the depth of staple you are looking to buy. Arrow brand staples are the most common. All the ones I saw that fit the 9700 are Wide Crown Swingline Heavy Duty

I have a ns100a porter cable narrow crown stapler. The driver will not retract, so it will not shoot staples. what can be the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks Pam

Usually when the driver is slightly bent, it will not retract. Easy to check. Remove the head and pull out the cylinder and driver together. Adjust the driver or replace as needed.

When I pull the trigger to shoot staple on my paslode 1/2 inch crown 16 gauge stapler it just makes the sound of air coming does not fire

I have had this problem with simular nail guns. Most likely ( in my experience ) it is the driver. It has either come unhooked or broken.

The terminals on the battery or on the stapler must be damaged (bent or corroded). It's probably the stapler if the battery charges fine. Does it do the same thing with another battery, or just one? Assuming it's the stapler, and you don't want to mess around with the terminals you could tape a spacer on the stapler to keep the battery 1/4 inch out. You would probably have to tape the battery in place though. If the problem is corroded terminals, I have found that a little wire brush attachment in a Dremel works great. Not a brush like a disc, but a brush that looks like the kind used for paint stenciling.
