Question about Hampton Bay 52 In. White Redington III¿ Ceiling Fan w/ Remote Control & Light Kit

1 Answer

After installation fan and light will not work

After installing the 52" Hampton Bay Colby fan I switched the circuit breaker back on. The light on the fan was on at that time. I pulled the chain to turn the light on and off. The light will not come back on even after turning the circuit breaker off and back on. The fan itself does not come on at all. I double checked to make sure the wiring was correctly followed.

Did you make sure the wire nuts were tight in the fan and in the box? Is there a switch controlling this fan?

Neither remote or wall switches will operate Hampton Bay 52

Check your wall switch you either lost your neautral or have a bad connection on your switch. Solution check white wires that are twisted tougher in wire nut and check the black wires on switch to make sure one of them don't pull out . Over time the black wires pushed in back of switch can work loose .

Our Hampton Bay 52 in. Ceiling fan lights will not shut off but the remotes will still turn the fan on and off.

More than you will have to replace that remote and receiver with a new one . They sell them at lowes homedepot menards. Its very easy to install the reveiver is mounted in the cover at the ceiling. Make shure you set the little dip switches in the controller and receiver to the same number before installing.Hope this helps.

rechecked wiring, but blue with blue, white with white, etc., now lights work with remote, but fan only works with wall switch - so why doesn't fan work with remote,if lights work the remote & receiver must be ok?

Wiring Hampton Bay Fan

The blue wire is for the light. This should connect to the other switch instead of being combined with the fan switch.
