Bose docking station chip broke off

I have a bose docking station and the place where you put your ipod is broken. The computer chip that sticks into your ipod was ripped off the docking station. Who can fix this? Can I send it into Bose or have someone fix it<

I have a similar problem. It seems that a connection or something is lose because the pod won't play unless it is jiggled or something is wedged behind it. I have two systems and both are doing it one is worse than the other.

The chip that goes into the bottom of the ipod broke off on my soundDock as well. i'd rather not have to send it back to bose. any other suggestions?

ipod only plays if you get it in just the right position, this involves jamming something behind it, and sometimes even then it doesnt work, its a right cafuffle, wouldnt buy another bose, i have 3 other docking staitions all older than this 1 and ive never had any bother with them, not worth the money. in fact their shite

I have had the same problem & we damaged my itouch wiggling it so much. Now I've had to replace the itouch & we are using a cord to plug into headphone & audio in on bose. I hate this. Can't charge itouch now while playing. Any idea about cost to repair on Bose???

I had the same problem that the ipod would onl play when I pulled it forward in the dock. Looking closely, I saw that some of the pins on the left hand side of the connector were bent forward, so I bent them back with a needle:

(ie. pushing the pins to the right, as shown here). This solved the problem for me.

If your connector is too far gone, I suggest looking to:

http://www.chargeconverter.com/shop/connector.htm

for a new connector for £3-4 or

http://www.chargeconverter.com/shop/connector.htm

for a whole PCB (Printed Circuit Board) replacement for £10-15.

Hope this helps...

Bose sound dock - no sound comes through it but my ipod works with the ear plugs so it's not my ipod

I had this problem for the pat two days. Believe it or not I took my Ipod touch of the dock. Shut the power off to the Ipod to reset it. Also the power to the docking station. turned everything back on. Put the Ipod back into the docking station and heard the beep.. and hit play and it was working again. Not sure but shutting Ipod off does act like a reset.

Hello ! I am shopping for mp3 players! I am comparing ipods with generic mp3 players, it seams to have a problem all the docking station on the market is made for ipod only. Is there any adaptor that will...

There is some docking stations or players for the generic MP3 players but most don't even need them. A lot of them do have speakers attached but you can always get generic stations such as the one that IPOD offers or if you want to save some cash, just get some speakers that will attach to the player. There is a lot of products out there so shop around and even check out your major retailers such as Wal Mart

Bose docking statoin

They both use the same speakers, my personal opinion deems they are both the same. However the second SoundDock charges via USB pin, so it is future proof for future iPods.
