Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hi Giles

You probably have your router connected to your modem, and a PC connected wired/wireless, and the ps3 connected wired/wireless.

1. First you need to start your ps3 system. Go to your network settings and select information. Write down your IP, Subnet mask, Standard Gateway, and the primary DNS.

2. Start your PC and go to your networks settings. Right click your network adapter, click properties. Select "Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Click properties and type in manually the IP adress, Subnet mask, Standard gateway and DNS.

Then you click "Advanced" and then you click "WINS" then "Activate NetBIOS over TCP/IP". Save your settings and connect the ps3 to your network (should not make a difference if you do it wired or wirelessly)

Let me know if this helped and please do rate my solution.

Brother MFC-7840W won't connect to gmail. DNS resolution error.

I'm pretty sure that the problem (though the machine indicating otherwise) is that gmail requires SSL, and the Scan to Email (server) doesn't support SSL. If this is the problem, you can easily check it out by trying to use some other mail, with another SMTP server, which doesn't require SSL.

You are probably getting this when you are trying to sign into the psn and it means you were banned from the PSN. haha :) create a new psn account and hope your console wasn't banned, or call 8003457669 and ask why your account was banned.

Settings - Network Settings - internet connection settings - custom - wired or wireless depending on your internet - manual settings - IP address manual - enter your ip address and your router address and change your dns primary 208.67.222.222 and secondry 208.67.220.220 this will enable you to go online as for the error code 80710092 i have no idea, im experiancing the same problem. its so frustrating. as soon as i find the answer i will let you know.

PS3

The way this was resolved for me (and I know someone else mentioned it in an other post here), was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. Voila... I am upgrading my PS3 software as I write this.... ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP..
