Whirlpool model LGB6000KQ1 electric dryer. I have to run the dryer two to three times before the clothes dry. There is a little heat, and I cleaned all the vents. Do I need a new heating element?

if the exhaust hose is clear of debris and you feel a good flow of air through it then ' Yes ' I would say that the heating element is bad.

Whirlpool Gas Dryer (ggq9800pw1) - No Heat

You have a leak somewhere in your gas system, Either from the gas valve or some other tubing. In this situation unless you understand how it works I would recommend getting a tech out to look at your system. That way you know that it is being done properly.

I have a a Whirlpool LGB6000KQ1 Gas Dryer. Sometimes the heat comes on, sometimes it does not. Could it be the thermostat or something else?

it appears as if your unit has a small plastic plug/access hole cover below the left corner of the dryer door. if you remove that you should be able to look within the dryers burner area and observe what might be happening..
if when you turn the dryer to a normal timed cycle, on high heat and start the unit, shortly after the dryer begins running you should be able to observe the glow ignitor glowing through that access hole, and shortly after that hear a click and flames appear, if is not glowing then there are probably thermal fuses blown out on the backside of your unit, or the ignitor is bad.
if however it does glow, and maybe even fire up once then all the safetys mentioned b4 are good.. now sit there and watch your ignitor/burner assembly.. the flame will cycle on and off depending on the dryers internal temperatures, but the main thing to look for is whether the ignitor glows, then fails to click then produce flames, if that be the case the gas valve coils are bad and need to be replaced part # is 279834 - M STYLE COIL KIT
hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn

I have a Whirlpool LGB6000KQ1 Gas Dryer. It

Hello, Unfortunatly your wrong on all 3 counts sorry :) This problem is going to be your safety valve coils...basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of the coils 57d5263.jpgThis The coils are mounted to the gas safty valve, This should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike

Dryer smells like gas

If you smell gas then there is a leak. The gas company came out and checked for a leak? Get them back in the morning before you open the room to check again. Eric

Whirlpool model LGB6000KQ1 gas dryer runs but has no heat only cool air. The timer when set to timed drying, moves down to off position, but does not shut off. Please let me know what parts may be faulty...

If the timer advances to OFF and does not stop you have a bad timer. It could also be the cause of no heat. Replace the timer first. If still no neat replace the glow bar ignitor.

Check that the vent duct is not partially clogged, reducing airflow. Overtemp sensor will shut the gas down after a period of operation when this condition exists.

Dryer has gas smell, whirlpool lgn 2000w gas dryer

Hello Tuna59,
I would strongly encourage you to identify the source of the gas leak as soon as possible. To do this, you can buy a product at most home depot or lowes department stores called SNOOP.. It is in essence..soapy water with a dauber in the cap. You use it by dunking the dauber in the solution and then putting the solution over gas piping joints. If it bubbles up at all..chances are that is where you have a small leak. You may or may not want to tackle that repair yourself since it poses personal risk if you don't know what you are doing. A build up of gas vapor in a confined space is very very dangerous and only needs a small ignition source to explode so please be careful. Probably a good idea to do all your troubleshooting ( if you decide to do this on your own ) with the windows open in that area. Do not use a fan or any other ignition source to move air/gas. Be careful.. and good luck...
Regards,
Rick
