My Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDI-1ILBT3 will not start.
At first the problem was intermittent then now it never starts.
A technician replaced the Thermal Fuse and Electronic control but it did not fix it and he says he is out of ideas.
The door latch is working, the cancel switch starts the water pump. All the lights on the control panel light up when the button is pressed.
Is there anything else I can try?
HI
Make sure the controls on the control panel are properly set. The newer push-button controls can be very sensitive; make sure the buttons are firmly pressed into position.

hi again
you told that you tried control panel then likely the problem will be timer.
Because the timer controls many operations, a faulty timer can cause many problems. The timer is a complex component, so you shouldn't attempt a do-it-yourself repair. Test the timer with a VOM set to the RX1 scale. To gain access to the timer, remove the front control panel. The timer is directly behind the main timer control knob. Disconnect one of the timer's terminal wires and clip one probe of the VOM to each terminal. If the meter reads zero, the timer is working. If the meter reads higher than zero, the timer is faulty and should be replaced.Â
If possible, use the same procedure to test the selector and cycle switches. The wiring hookup, however, may be too complicated to figure out on either of these switches. If you aren't sure you can deal with these switches, call a professional service person. Replace a faulty timer -- or a faulty control switch -- with a new one made for the dishwasher.
The timer is connected to several wires that supply power to operate the various functions of the dishwasher. To replace the timer, have a helper hold the new timer next to the old one. Connect the wires of the new timer one by one, removing the old wire and connecting the new, to make sure you connect the wires correctly. The wires may be friction-fit on the terminals. If they are, use long-nosed pliers to remove the wires. Don't pull up on the wires, or you may break the connection between the wires and the clips.Â
After connecting the wires, set the new timer in position, secure it the way the old one was secured, and replace the control panel and knobs.

If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:
Power from the house
Is
there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test,
because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical
circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a
blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.
Door switch
The
door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher
won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel
cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective,
you need to completely replace it.
Wiring
Often
the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and
breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be
repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the
wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower
part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken,
burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade
wire and connectors.
Timer or selector switch
Although
it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If
so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these
can be repaired.
Ok, everything has been checked out, and all seems to fine!
i believe that electronic panel that controls the starter and wash cycles is defective and you have to have this repaced, there is no way that you will be able to fix this problem yourself, this means a sevice engineer will have to come out and repace the defective control panel
kind regards

The model number is KUDI01ILBT3
It was the heating element that was replaced, not the Thermal fuse.
The power and door switch are fine. The timer is powered by the control unit which was replaced by a technician and did not solve the problem.
The control unit was replaced. This did not solve my problem.
