Question about Compaq tc4200 Tablet PC
I have a compaq tc400 i need to reset the bios, i opened up the laptop but i cant seem to find the cmos battery to reset this, can you help me please i live in the caribbean and i really need my laptop unlocked.
I haven't tried it yet, but according to HP's "Maintenance and Service Guide" (Available in PDF from their Support website) you have to completely break down the computer, remove the mainboard and the CMOS battery should be located on its underside. Remove it for five minutes, replace and reassemble EXCEPT FOR BATTERY and turn it on under AC power only. I just purchased one that needs reset, but haven't received it yet, so I cannot attest to its effectiveness except that this is deirect from HP. Hope it helps!

I agree with this method but make sure you have no magnetic tools or any other devices near by. Plus leave the battery completely out for 10 min before restarting. Number or document ever screw, because some are used as ground screws to help with functionality of the laptop. I hope this helps, and this method does work from HP pdf and
