Electrolux Central Vac - very hot where tube attaches to handle
A few weeks ago I noticed intermittant power when runnig the vac. Today the area got very hot where the handle and wand connect. I have the type of tube to clean carpeting, with the two wires that connect to the wand. Thanks! Should I send out for repair or replace?

Because you said you had intermittent power and the area where the wire is got very hot, there is a high probability that you have a poor electrical connection inside the handle. Left unrepaired, it could pose an electrical hazard or fire hazard to you. If you unplug it and can disassemble the arm, look for evidence of carbon or arc damage near where you felt the high temp but I would not use it as is until it is repaired or replaced,

Check that the Handle has a slider to adjust air flow, Electrolux Vac's arent really designed for carpet cleaning, check hose for breaks or cuts and everything is secure, while its on run your hands all over the hose and vac to locate any air flow that should not be.
These problems are nearly exclusively caused by a bad circut board and replacing it is the fix. Bad boards can cause many different effects so its nearly impossible to be sure. The 9v signal wire is not enough to short out an entire unit so it is unlikely the hose. If it is a direct connect system and you are pulling power from the 110 somehow that would cause main unit problems but that is unlikely at best. Sounds like a failed board to me.
Do you need a new powerhead too or only the hose? If you need a new powerhead than I would recommend looking at the Imperium Pro Elite Attachment set. It is an excellent quality powerhead and hose. If you only need a new hose than you will need to contact the Aerus because they will be probably be the only company who can sell you a hose that wil be compatible with your powerhead. The Beam Central Vac may have more than a one year factory warranty and it sounds to me that you may have a bad relay switch the Central Vac, if you do it should be covered under the factory warranty. Otherwise, you may have a bad supervalves or a wire came loose, if the hose switch turns on the power nozzle then it may be a bad supervalve or a bad relay and to contact the installer or the manufacturer of Beam.
