I have a constant drip between transmission pan and the small pan in front of it i changed the pan gasket but its still driping alot

knowing the make and model would help, but the most likely problem is the front seal in the transmission is leaking. you have to remove the transmission to replace the seal. it sits about even where the trans bolts to the engine and when they leak they leak down and blow back and looks as if the pan is leaking.. if its a rear wheel drive vehicle.. most will have a metal cover in front of the pan, you can remove the cover and with a flash light look up and see if the leak is coming from the seal.

Have the engine steam cleaned (watch any electronics) Run the engine & start looking from the top, down. It may be a bad valve cover leak from the rear of the cover or ck the front & rear seals. (cracked head, block etc. It could be many places

Timming chain cover coolent leak 1997 ford explorer 4.0 pushrod

no they dont make a partial gasket kit... unless youve damaged the oil pan gasket, the one that ison there should be fine... put some black silicone rtv sealant where the front cover and oil pan/ block meet. if youve damaged the gasket you have to drop the pan.

Cannot locate transmission filter or instructions to replace

ok, here's the deal. there are 2 types of transmissions one with an external oil filter( kinda looks like the oil filter for the engine) and then there is the other type of transmission that was produced later on the 4 cylinder engines that doesnt have a removable filter. it does have a screen that is not servicable, it can only be replaced during the rebuild of the transmission. this design is supposed to be "back flushed" to remove all debris. Most good transmission shops have this type of system that pressureizes the system and does this.

If your gonna do this on your own, what you will need to do is buy 4-5 quarts of transmission fluid, drain the oil from the pan on the front of the engine, reinstall it, add the fluid, drive for 30 min, and then repeat the process.
