Verify the printer is on, try another cable, another port, another PC if possible.

When start cannot enter password - keys don't register -have to restart before keys register

If you are using a USB keyboard, it takes time for it to register. If this is PS2, make sure it is plugged in the right port and is pushed in all the way. Also make sure you only have 1 keyboard type device plugged in to the PC, also, if it is USB, make sure you are using the USB ports on the MOBO and not the front of the PC.

Usb not recognising usb adapters

Try a different port or a port on a different section of your machine. USB controllers and USB ports can go bad from time to time. You can always add an external USB hub to any of your working hubs.
It could also be that whatever you're plugging in is not formatted correctly, or isn't powered on if it needs power. Also, try rebooting your machine to see if that fixes the recognition.

Keyboard stopped working

http://www.ascendtech.us/emachines-kb-0705-ps-2-keyboard-black_i_kbdemkb0705bps2.aspx

Things I see here.
1) The second Keyboard you plugged wasn't any good either.

2) The PS/2 port for your keyboard on your motherboard, isn't any good anymore.
Computer off, plug it into the Mouse PS/2 port, and use a USB mouse.
BIOS will reset the I/O address for that PS/2 port, and set it for the Keyboard, when the computer is turned back on.

You may have to;
A) Turn the computer off
B) Unplug from power.

C) Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of 10 seconds. Let go of the Power On button. Do this same procedure two more times.

What you are doing is draining residual power, clearing CMOS Error Codes, and resetting BIOS back to the factory default settings.

Keyboard plugged in, USB mouse plugged in, plug the computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.

Still no?
Motherboard replacement.

You didn't unplug the old Keyboard, WITH the computer on, and plug the new Keyboard in, did you? It isn't a hot-swap device. The computer must be off when unplugging a mouse, or keyboard.

My Kodak M1033 isn't registering that it's plugged into my computer. Maybe the USB port is broken?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

SE-084C Won't work on mac is there a soultion to this?

According to the samsung website the SE084C it can be used with a mac see http://www.samsung.com/ph/consumer/monitor-peripherals-printer/optical-disc-drive/dvd-rw-drive/SE-S084C/RSPN/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail

Are you using it via a usb hub or is it plugged directly into the usb port of the mac. As it is powered via usb, on the hub it may not have enough power getting to it, so plug it directly into the usb port. If you already have it plugged into the usb port change the usb port and finally check that the usb cable is working, if it isn't change it. Hope this helps.

The pc does not detect the usb drive, the usb flashes. But nothing comes up

Make sure it is inserted all the way into the usb port. If nothing comes up, this doesn't mean it isn't connected, it just means autoplay isn't on. Once it is plugged in, go to the start menu > computer. This will open a folder with all your drives, both internal and external. Double click on your flash drive's icon to open it.

I just want to register the purchase of a new mp3 player.

Hello Sue

Windows XP finds new hardware when it is plugged in a usb port.

First reboot your computer (this resets the pc). Solves a lot of problems, too!

Plug your MP3 player into an available usb port. You may have a couple of usb ports on the front of your pc and a couple in back.

Your player will show up in MY COMPUTER as another drive such as 'E" or "J" or the name of your device.

Right click on the device icon and a menu should appear with options to register your product.

Go to the MP3 player's manufacturer's site and register from there.

Hope This Helps.

When the Samsung YP-3U is plugged into the USB port, it registers as disconnected and the computer can't find driver files for it. The computer has been fully updated and is running Windows XP with SP3.

Computer doesnt register device as being plugged-in

This can be a problem with your USB capabilities in your computer.

If you are using your front USB ports, it is possible they are underpowered. Try switching to the rear USB ports.

You can also try a self-powered USB Hub to improve performance or purchase a USB 2.0 card for your system.

It could be something as simple as a bad USB cable. That would be the cheapest place to start...next to trying the rear USB ports.
