Question about Brother IntelliFAX 4750 Plain Paper Laser Fax
We are not able to send/receive any faxes
Make sure the phone cord is plugged into the LINE port of the fax machine.
Check the phone line with a regular phone.

Unplug the power cord from the back of the machine for 30 seconds. Put your finger on the stop key first and then re plug the machine, hold the stop key until the time and date return to the LCD. Do not worry about losing any faxes the machine can be powered off up to four days without losing faxes in memory.

SOURCE: Won't receive or send
I called Brother Customer Support and they told me to unplug the 4750e and then while holding the stop/exit button plug the fax machine back in. Worked like a charm!!

unplug machine, press and hold down the "stop/exit" key while pluggung back in. continue to hold the button down for 5 secs, then release. if machine returns to the regular date/time display, you should be alright. if not, then you'll have to call brother or an authorized service center. this is usually caused by a fax stuck in memory, which this procedure should clear.

Sounds like a glitch in the memory has left a document there, unable to print. You'll need to clear it out by going into the Maintenance Mode. Maintenance Mode is not mentioned in your user's manual, because there are several functions available that can seriously disable the machine. All you have to do to be safe is follow these instructions to get into the mode, clear the memory, then get out without messing around with other functions.
Press these keys in rapid succession:
* (the star on the dialing keypad)
Do that whole sequence in 2 seconds or less, ignoring all the beeping the machine will assault you with. It's designed to not allow some to accidentally enter Maintenance Mode; if you wait for the beeping to stop, you'll fail, left in some part of the normal menus. When you succeed, the word MAINTENANCE will appear on the display, and all the lights will flash in unison. If that doesn't happen, just touch the STOP button and try again.
Once in maintenance Mode, touch 91 on the number pad. The display will say Initializing or something like that as it clears all the documents form the memory. Your programmed phone numbers and settings will not be affected. When it finishes it will go back to MAINTENANCE. Unplug the power for a few seconds, then plug it back in. The machine should be fine and ready to use.
If Function 91 doesn't work, you should try going back into MAINTENANCE and touch 01 instead. It will clear all memory back to the point it was when you first unboxed the machine. But I think 91 will take care of everything.
