Look like you might have a display problem...
It is hard to see if you do not have any image on the laptop
If you have another monitor try plugging it in the out display port of the computer to see if you have a visual display on it
OK, you get the yellow light which I assume happens when you plug in the power cord even though you have not pressed the Power Button. So, when you pressed the Power Button, did you see any other lights flashing such as the disk drive light? Did you hear the Fan running and the Disk Drive running? Did you hear the DvD/CD drive click once or the light on the DvD/CD drive door flash? If you did see the aforementioned that means your system is trying to boot and might in fact completed the boot process but the Video is not displaying. If it seems like the computer is running by no video is displaying try shinning a flashlight on the screen to see if you can faintly see the icons or something on the screen. If so that means your LCD Inverter is probably bad and needs to be replaced. You could attach an external monitor to the laptop then press and hold the FN (Function Key) + the (F1 thru F12) key that corresponds to displaying on an external monitor. If the video shows on the external monitor then surely you have an issue with the Laptop's screen. If the laptop is not running and you hear no fans, no disk drive running and saw no lights then you probably have a motherboard issue. They will repair it and ship it back by Fedex or UPS and most times their prices will beat any quote you find including shipping.
If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :-
Not sure but it sounds like the hard drive is causing the problem. Lap tops are set up so that any problems with them they shut down, and a bad hard drive will shut you down the way you are describing. The only test i know for this is to remove the hard drive and see if you can get the computer to at least boot. If you can with no hard drive then it usually means the drive has failed. Not sure if this will help, but hope it helps.
If the CD drive door won't open, odds are that at least you know the drive is without power. Have you had the case opened up at all? With what you've described here your computer needs the tender, loving care of a technician.
if I understood correctly, you are trying to power on your laptop and nothing happens.
assuming that it worked before, try the follow: 1. try to turn it on with the power cord connected- if it works it means that your battery is dead 2. take out the battery and try to power it on with only the power cord 3. put back the battery and see if it works
