Display Driver Stopped working and has successfully recovered!

But it keeps happening! Its so frustrating, as my laptop freezes so I know when its going to happen. Im not sure if its over-heating or its because Im usually on my web cam when it happens. It freezes, screen goes black flashes back on sometimes a few times before I close everything and it stops. An error message pops up sying "display driver zxguebbv (not actual letters cant remember em!) has stopped working but has successfully recovered" and a little yellow triangle with an exclaimation mark is on task bar. I downloaded flash player to see if it helps and tried to download DirectX but told me I had to try again later. Any info would be fab! Thanks :o) - otherwise my laptop will be in pieces by the end of the week lol

Same, when I have a couple of applications/programs open my computer will start to go into it's, what I call now, 'stupid mode'. Cursor will slow down, windows will open at snail pace and music will 'stick'. Then sound is jammed or something and screen goes white..with vertical or horizontal lines all over the screen. About 4 minutes ago it was going to do that but the error message came up nvlddmkm. What is this? Something wrong with the driver? Uninstall? what help us out here.

    hi
i am having the same problem. when i try and watch some avi files and dvds the screen is either very poor quality and with a grid over the top or the display driver fails. closing the program and even crashing the computer causing a blue screen. I have recently installed adobe cs4 creative suite? it has never been running when i try and watch a dvd or avi but could this be a reason for lack of memory?

    thanks

also could it possibly be the display driver? does this need updating? I have had the laptop for nearly 18 months never had this problem before

Your computers are running out of memory. Try to close any programs or processes that are not required. If you need to multitask while using video you can try to upgrade your ram. This is listed last but try this first. Search online for updated drivers and install them first.

SOURCE: Display Driver Stopped working and has successfully recovered!

Sounds like a common over-heating issue. Make sure your laptop is getting enough air circulation, both under and around the unit. Most laptops draw air from underneath and displace it out the sides or rear. Places like carpets, lounge chairs and beds cause the laptop to sink into them and prevent the vents and fans from drawing in cool air. To prevent this, try placing a firm board or other object under the laptop when using it in such places. If this doesn't work, try to observe if the fans are working correctly, if they aren't noticeably running or seem to quiet, then a faulty power cord or thermostat on the heat sinks may be the problem.

You Display driver is having some issue. either it may be not updated or its file are corrupted. I'll suggest you to uninstall your Display driver completely from your computer and download latest Display driver from particular website and install it. this way it'll solve your problem.

I keep getting a error message stating that my display driver has stopped working but fully recovered, what does that mean?

Hi,

This may happen due to various reasons; did you try reinstalling the original Intel Video driver and the update posted on the esupport website:

Let me know about this.

Thanks

Hi. I think you have uninstall your display driver and download the updated drivers on the Lenovo driver support website.

Go to this website and download the video driver for your laptop: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?doctypeind=9&template=/productselection/landingpages/downloadsDriversLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo
just make sure that you choose the correct or corresponding operating system that you have on your laptop (e.g XP, VISTA or Windows 7)

After downloading the video driver install it on your laptop then restart you computer. Goodluck!

Xps 420 keeps freezing or going to blue screen

Same with my Dell Vostro 420. At this rate I will just buy a new PC as I am wasting too much time on this. We tried usual stuff like cleaning inside, making cooler, removing certain virus software, still no luck. I have to restart 4 times a day and keep saving material. Can only restart by turning it off by pulling out power socket.
