Re: Need to network my copier to our computers
First you will have to install "Colour network scangear".You will find it in the installation cd or down load it from the web.
After installing the coulor network scangear, open it and let it search for the copier, select the copier in that program.
Then you will be able to scan to word or other programs.

If your printer supports scanning, then the main issue you have is software to control the printer and DO something with the document once it is scanned. Readiris is what I use. I have version 11 and I think they are up to 13, but it works GREAT. There probably are other pieces of software out there to handle scanning and result document manipulation. With Readiris, you can make the scanned item directly into a jpeg or a pdf. which is really useful. You might want to try download.com and search there. Good Luck
Hi Ben, You can download the Drivers for your Canon Printer from the link below. Download Canon Pixma MX340 Drivers Click on the link above and choose Drivers and Software and Select Win 7 from the O/S list below. From the list below on the webpage - click on the First Option under Drivers Section to download and then run the file once it is downloaded to start the installation. Regards,Suhail
Make sure the Lexmark OCR scan software (used for scanning documents for editing) is installed on your computer. The scan software is available only on the installation disc that came with your printer. No downloadable driver is available in the Lexmark website. Just insert the install disc into your hard drive to install the additional software on your computer.
clarification please. well sometime and i chance usb port and it works. or restart your computer. there should be a software that you download onto your computer that comes with the printer. you should open the software everytime you scan/print something.
I had the same problem and I got it to work. I have Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 on my computer. Here's what I did...
Go to "Start" then "Control Panel". -Click on "Programs and Features". -Scroll down to Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - click on that and then click on the "Change" link above. -A box will pop up, click on "Add or Remove Features" and then click "Continue". -Click on the "+" next to "Office Tools" -Click on the "+" next to "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" -Click on the down arrow next to "Scanning, OCR and Indexing..." -Then, click on "Run from my Computer" -Next click on "Continue" at the bottom of the dialogue box and your configuration process should begin
Once completed go to the start menu and type in "Scan" into the search box. Go to "Microsoft Office Document Scanning" Once there, plug your scanner into you computer, chose what color you want your scan to be in, and click on the picture of the scanner to the right. To make my scans clear, I had to click on "Scanner..." and chose KODAK ESP AiO as my scanner even though I have a KODAK ESP-3 printer/scanner.
I hope these instructions weren't too confusing and I hope this helps some of you out! My scanner was causing me a lot of frustration for a while!
1) Install the Microsoft Office DocumentImaging feature by following the steps given below:
1) Go to Start -> Control Panel. 2) Click the Add or Remove Programs. 3) Select the Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 and click the Change button. 4) Click the Add or Remove Features and click on Next. 5) Select the Choose advanced customization of applications checkbox and click Next. 6) Click on the Office Tools -> Microsoft Office DocumentImaging -> Scanning, OCR and Indexing Service Filter. 7) Select Run all from My Computer, insert the Office installation CD, and the feature is installed.
its waiting for the command from the computer. in order to use scan you have to down load the canon scan tool from imagerunner.com / support/ downloads/ office products/ then canon network utilities. look for network scan gear tool ... down load save open run setup then open the program and you can either let it search for a scanner or you can put in the IP adress for the copier. then under your scanning software ( ADOBE PRO) eg. you selesct the scan gear tool as the scanner. to scan a doc you put paper in feeder select scan online then from your computer tell your software to scan good luck
