Question about Pioneer DEH-P4800MP CD Player
I have a Pioneer DEH-P4800MP in dash Tuner/CD Player. It has not been used in a few months and when I put it back in the vehicle it seems to have lost it's programming. It will play regular FM stations (although the original presets had to be reprogrammed), but I can not figure out how to get it into the INITIAL mode to make other settings. I need to reset the clock and to select the AUX 1 setting so I can play back my Sirius radio which is plugged into the AUX input on the back. This all worked fine before and I have made these settings in the past. The instructions say to turn the unit off using the SOURCE button. Then it says to press the FUNCTION button until the clock display appears. After turning the unit off and pressing the FUNCTION button I can get nothing to happen no matter how many times I press the button or how long I hold it down. I'm wondering if there is some sort of RESET button I may have to press to get it back into the mode where I can make my initial settings. Any advice would be appreciated.
Actually, TRY powering OFF the unit, and release the volume button. Then, press and hold ONLY THE VOLUME BUTTON, until the initial settings appear. Pioneer really needs to get their act together on this issue. I have read all over that MANY people have had this issue, and the website is just a repeat of their lame printed manual.
Hope this helps. In review:
From OFF, press and hold ONLY THE VOLUME BUTTON. The initial settings shall appear at this point after about three seconds...
I just read these instructions, and while trying it, I found that my FUNCTION KEY had ABSOLUTELY NO FUNCTION IN THIS.

Try holding the function button and the power button at the same time thats what worked for me.

The manual is only partly correct. Power the unit down, then press and hold the Function button while powering the unit back up. Keep holding the Function button during the power-up, and you'll be taken into the Initial Settings. Worked that way on my DEH-P4800MP, anyway.
