And of course you tried those discs on another ps3 unit and they worked fine right?

you know that Blu-Ray lens in PS3's, they die too quickly. Try a CD Lens cleaner first, if that doesn't fix it, go for warranty - contact manufacturer.

Tip

Copy XBOX Games

Burning X-BOX & GAMECUBE GAMES using CDRWIN

1) Insert your original in your CD-ROM.
2) Open CDRWin (or any other image extractor) to make an ISO image of the game on your hard disc. Click on 'Extract Disc/Tracks/Sectors'.
3) Here are the settings which work for me (!):
Disc Image/Cue sheet
File-Format: Automatic
Reading-options:
RAW, CD+G, CD-TEXT and MCN/USRC all unchecked
Error Recovery: Ignore
Jitter Correction: Auto
Subcode Analyses: Fixed
Data-Speed: MAX
Read Retry Count: 10
Audio Speed: MAX
Subcode Threshold: 900
There are a lot of reports, that Raw reading also works, but I had problems with it enabled.
4) Click on 'Start'

RECORDING TO A DISC
1) Install Fireburner
2) Double Click on the Cue File for the Game.
3) Right Click and select burn to CD.
That's all there is record DAO, and you can try to burn it fast at 2x using PNY Black Diamond CDR'.

Wont read any type of disc

1. this is usually due to the laser reader in the CD or DVD drive has failed or the disks are dirty or scratched. or the DVD drive isn't capable of reading the disks at a certain speed and need replacement .
2. of the DVD cable has become disconnected at the motherboard connection.
3.DVD drive may need replacement.

My ps3 wont play the disc's i put in the blue light works fine but the games dont show up it just sits there

Try cleaning the discs first. If that does not fix the problem then try a quality bluray cleaner in the system itself. Sometimes the lens gets dirty and a cleaning will clear it right up. Good luck.

Read disc error tweaking dont help

common problem with all PS systems, I have had the same problem with my PS1, PS2 and the PS3 - opted me to move away from PS.

Unfortunately I don't have a solution for you other that to replace the lens, each one of my machines I had to replace.

Even feedback from sony suggested lens replacement.

Good Luck.

My ps3 60gb has started not to play ps3 games and blue ray discs but does play ps2 games fine

A friend of mine has had a similar problem. It sounds like the drive reader for the PS3. You can either update the drive if you can or get Sony to take a look and replace it for free under warranty. It sounds like more of the driver since you can play PS2 games so get the driver looked at first. Talk to Sony Support for more info.

Hope This Helps
