Panasonic NV-GS11 playback problem

My DV was working perfectly, till today. I use it all the time and its been fine.

I take a video, and it claims its recording (using a tape which has lots of videos on it) then i go to the playback mode and press play and it just plays a black screen (i did take the cap off). The time doesn't change either, it just stays at 0h00m00s00f and normaly the numbers move! I've pressed the reset button over and over but nothing works! Where did the picture go? I'm so confused! Please help! =)

oh ya if this has anything to do with it...just before I tried to playback i loaded the DV STUDIO 3.1E-SE onto my PC (software that came with the DV)...then I connected the DV into the PC and it got a black picture from my camera...weird.
