This sounds like the fuel pump is shot. The pump has a 'dead' spot and when the engine is started by using 'nasty' starting fluid it will go to the running mode and run fine. Never use starting fluid!!! A bit of gas is best, just use common sence. Frankster016

Replace the fuel injectors, that is the likely cause......

to test the injector, take the power clip off the top of the injector, take one wire and ground it to the body of the car, and another form the battery, to the other post on the injector, if you do not hear a pulsing sound coming from the injector it is bad, if you do, then you have a wiring problem.

I agree with the fuel pump problem this is quite common with these trucks. but the fuel injectors on this motor are not accesable without removing the plenun and they are not standard fuel rail injectors so you can not test as earlier instructed.

Have a helper turn the key on while you listen for the fuel pump at filler tube. check fuel pressure, should be 55-60psi. you can get a cheap fuel gauge at autozone etc for about $20 . the connector for testing is on the fuel rail close to the lines that feed into the intake. if you don't have enough pressure, or no pressure, try swapping relay with identical relay in the under hood fuse/relay box. Listen for it to click when the key is turned on. Good luck.

I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer with 4.3 liter have to keep putting gas in throttle body for it to start. What might be the problem?

if your car starts after putting gas in throttle, means that you have no sufficient fuel feeding and one cause is the injection system not providing the need fuel, pressure regulator the second cause,or the fuel filter is blogged.

95 blazer fuel prob's.

It drops when it is turned off through the return the pump might be getting weak If you keep using the starting fluid you will blow the intake off of it or it will get hooked on it and won't start without it.

I have a 97 Chevy Blazer that will crank but not start. I can get the vehicle started with the help of starting fluid or gasoline put in the throttle body but throttle response while driving is poor. ...

if it starts with starting fluid. its not getting any fuel to engine. first check the fuse and relay for fuel pump. then make sure fuel pump comes on when you try to start it. its only on for a few seconds when starting. then when driving its on all the time. good-day ! fuel filter also if need be.

leaky injector/s is flooding motor, mechanically clean or replace. And clean throttle body while you are at it with spray cleaner. Should be almost spotless where large throttle valve opens and closes.

Fuel pump on chevy s10, 2002, v6 has gone out. how do i know that is the problem, and how do I change it? Could it be a fuse, or fuel filter

try tapping the fuel tank while someones cranks the engine to vibrate the fuel pump or spray starting fluid into throttle body ti see if it starts.to diagnose properly you need a fuel pressure meter and test light at fuel pump harness to see if you have voltage while cranking.

2000 Chevy Blazer Cranks but wont start...

What about the fuel filter????? Have you changed it out??? If you can spary something like a started fluid, that means it is a fuel problem. My last check, it has to be above 50-psi on the fuel pressure to make it run right. I had 35psi, but whould not get over 30mph or down hill maybe 45mph. Check both filter & pressure, but check pressure with a New fule filter!!!!
