Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
This machine has separate cartridges for black and each color. We are only using it to print black currently. Dell rep originally told me how change a setting on the panel to allow it to continue printing. I believe it was a change in a setting - selecting something generic instead of something specific to Dell. Now, no one there seems to know this anser.
Essentially Epson should release drivers to resolve this issue. I am not sure there is a exact fix but according to recent US law paased within the last year or so, it is illegal for them to program this into there software. Call the customer relations or email them at

Apparently, if you hold the "resume button" (the one next to the power button) for about five seconds after you get the message saying to replace the color ink cartridge the machine starts printing. I did this after I went to "maintenance" under "preferences" and changed ink to "black only." At first that alone did not work, but after trying the resume button for 5 secs it worked okay.

when you do a "file" "print" to print the form - click on "preferences" in the print menu - then select "grayscale printing" box. this may have to be done each time you go to print something new
hope you got your taxes done already
