Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have an old onkyo a-8067 reciever and only the left side speakers work. A while back the right side was fading and now it doesn't work at all. I also have a sony STR D1015 home theater receiver that has a low constant crackle/static that starts once the receiver has warmed up (after about 30 sec-1 min. after being turned on). The sound of the static does not increase with the volume level.

Fixed the Onkyo. Took apart the balance adjuster and rebent the feather-like things inside so they made contact. Clamped it back together and it works fine.

How to hook up a Onkyo DV-CP500 5 DVD/CD to a Onkyo AV receiver HT-R500 and a Hitchi 43FDX15BV2G005104 HDTV?

From what I find on the internet, the Receiver and the DVD player do not have any HDMI connections. Therefore, I'm using the S-Video connections. The best way to hook these components up is the following.

DVD player - Use an S-Video Cable on the OUTPUT and connect this to the S-Video Input on the Reciever. Also, connect the two audiot OUTPUTS (red/white) on the DVD player to the RECIEVER's two audio INPUTS (red/white)

RECEIVER - Use an S-Video Cable and connect to the S-VIDEO MONITOR OUTPUT and this will connect to the TV's S-VIDEO.

Speakers will connect to the Left Right Front Speaker, Left Right Rear Speakers, and Center Channel. The sub woofer needs to be connected to the Sub woofer/PreOut terminal on the Receiver.

The right channel output section or speaker might have damaged. Seek tech support.

No sound on right speaker when playing input on CD or PHONO

Nothing should be connected to PHONO except a turntable.

Reverse the leads left-to-right and see where that takes you for the root. Might be a bad cable.

Onkyo digital reciever has poping noise when in dolby sound

I have the same reciever, and had the same problem.  Contact Onkyo, this is a known issue where defective DSP chips were used and manifest problems with a popping / clicking sound when using surround settings.  These receivers also have a Dolby Digital input issue that can cause audio dropouts when watching cable or SAT broadcasts that encode DD using a 'newer' broadcast encoding methods.  Onkyo is covering the cost of that repair for me now, even though the receiver is 5 years old now....

Speaker is not detected

If you are connecting a 5.1 surrround sound rather than 7.1, have you connected the surround speakers to the surround left and surround right rather than surround back left and surround back right?

Left side speakers only one working

Have you reset the settings in the system to 5.1?Are the rest of the speakers working? Go over the wireing yourself just unplug one at a time and reseat it on both ends system end and speaker end it may just be that when he put it together again one of the wires wasn't set back just right.

Sound not coming from left side surround sound speaker or my right side front speaker

it is highly likely that you're TV is outputting mono sound, hence the left channel only. check your physical connections to the TV and the balance / channel volume on the television as well.
