Re: operating system not found
First enter your bios setup by pressing F2 when your computer starts. Find the section which sets the boot device order. Change the first boot device to CDROM. Save the settings and exit bios. Now put your recovery CD in cdrom drive and see if it runs. Let me know if it does not work

enter to bios setup and remove Ethernet controller from boot sequence or make it last on the list. and about operating system not found if you already use your system without problem then reinstall the system from a cd .
The computer is booting up using the ethernet. Usually this boot up is used on one of the workstations of a Network.
The computer should boot up on the hard drive. Its just that the network is priority over the hard drive. For you to change this you must configure the Boot options on the BIOS.
1. Go to the BIOS settings
2. Go to anything that associates with Boot Options
3. Make the CD/DVD ROM be the first boot device
4. Make the Hard drive be the second boot device
5. Make other Boot Devices retain to 3rd and so forth Save the changes and restart the computer
6. If all fails make sure that the hard drive is detected on BIOS if not
7. Try to disconnect the hard drive and put it back in Go to the BIOS see if it is detected
8. If not replace the Hard drive
You computer is trying to boot from the LAN port (Ethernet).
Go into the BIOS by pressing either the F2 or the Del key. Check and make sure the hard drive is recognised by the system as with it saying "Operating system not found" does not sound good and could mean a hardware failure.
If it is seen by the BIOS check the boot order, change it to the HDD as the first boot device.
Your laptop is trying to boot via LAN(network). Possible the HDD is not being detected by your system that is why it could not boot to windows. Try to boot up without the ethernet (your internet cable) connected to it and see if it works. If not, you may have a bad HDD.
The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard disk has failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. if this does not work then reboot and go to the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to determine if the hard drive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If this computer cannot see it as an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirm the hard drive is faulty. The hard drive needs to be replaces in the laptop and Windows installed and the laptop's device drivers and your programs etc to get a working laptop again.
PXE (pronounce Pixie) is an agent used to boot on to the network.
It's using the DHCP protocol to localise a server where the image of the OS is located
If, for any reason, the hard drive is not seen the computer will attempt to boot on the network controller.
This can be caused if the hard drive is missing, unplugged or corrupt, or simply by not having the boot order configured correctly.
When you start your laptops, press F2 repeatedly until you enter the bios set up, navigate to the boot order and make sure that the hard drive (sometimes listed as HDD....) at the top of the list.
Hope this helps, let me know if you need anymore help.

computer is on, immediately start to press F2 or DEL button in order to enter the BIOS and reset all settings to default. Most likely you turned
on the «Boot from network «option.
well ur msg clearly states operating system not found.
for this u hav to install ur OS again.
As ur sister has a branded machine u must hav got a Operating System CD-ROM with it for backup.(in ur case it must be vista)
if u hav the cdrom then turn ur system on just put the cdrom into the drive and let it do what follows.
It may ask u abt where to install ur OS(means which partition)
just select the desired partition and many other simple questions which u can easily answer incase u hav any problem I am always there.
