Re: how do ya reset fuser code (H-4) Xc1044 Xerox?
Performing a Fault Reset 14 will reset your copier and will help to clear error codes.
Turn the power off.
Locate the Clear Button, which is grey in color, in the upper right corner above the green Start Button.
Locate the Auto Button the lower left corner of the Control Panel.
Turn the power back on.
Press the buttons in the following sequence, releasing each button after each time you press it: [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto]. Every light on the Control Panel should go out, and the error code should clear.
If the error code has not cleared, wait a few seconds then repeat Steps 1 through 5.
Program the copier as if you were going to make 14 copies.
Press the green [Start] button to store the reset code. The copier will return to the ready position.

You can try resetting the code. If it comes back then the machine will need service. The H3 code is a fuser code which is the part that gets hot right before the paper exits the machine.
Press the C key then the far left key then the C key then the far left key. So C,far left,C,far left
These 4 keys must be pressed within 4 seconds. If done correctly your display will go blank.
If so then key in 14 as if your were going to run 14 copies then press the print button.
This will reset the code, at least temporarily. The H codes sometimes pop up when there is no issue with the copier.
If it comes back you will need a repair person.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
Most likely the gear that drives the fuser heat roll broke. It would be laying in the back of the machine about 2/3 of the way through. Its not an expensive part nor hard to change. Just open the machine, look toward the back behind the hot area of the machine, I am guessing you will find broken pieces of gear. If so let me know and I will tell you where and how to replace it.
