PS2 problem

Ive got the same problem with mine. but I keep ejecting the disc and reinserting it and it reads eventually. having the ps2 down rather than upright seems to help it to read more aften also

It's likely the lazer lens is out of alignment or requires replacing.

Did your dvd cleaner also have a lens aligning part to it, you normally go through a spoken instruction(go to track 2 etc), as cleaning is sometimes not the only required solution.

You have to open it up and carefully clean lens with Q tip, carefully.

Look around online and there should be a detailed description of how to fix it. Do you have the old ps2 or the new slim one? If its the older, bigger one, the laser is probably out of alignment. There is a gear to adjust it in the disc tray. There should be a diagram online somewhere showing you how to unscrew and take it apart, and where exactly the gear is so you can see it yourself before taking apart. Just leave the ps2 apart, and keep opening the tray and adjusting the gear to different cogs, and eventually it should read the disc. Just be careful not to accidentally unplug any of the little power supply plugs in there, they're really hard to get to to put back in. Hope that helps!
