Re: TV has shadowing double images/colors are uneven
It sounds like the problem one can have from a weak signal.
This kind of problem is normally associated with the use of an antenna which is receiving the primary signal, then a secondary one that is being reflected to you from a distance; an echo.
The first signal is the one you are seeing best, then from some distance, the same signal is being sent back to you with a time delay of a few microseconds causing a shift in the images.
A repositioning of the antenna orientation is the only solution.
If you are on cable, you will need to call them and holler about the signal quality.
Thinking this through, I don't think this can happen when receiving satellite signals since the antenna is pointed toward the sky and the chances of any noticeable reflection are close to nil.

For CRT projection TV's, this indicates that the Green picture tube is burned (warn out). The less green that strikes the screen, the more redish the image will look. You will need to find an old school TV repair shop that knows how to replace picture tubes.
In the case of a DLP style TV, the color wheel needs replacing.
the most common problem when the tv felt is the shadows all over the screen (maybe the tv didnt show it imm but looks like now is there the problem)
second:there is a circuit in the tv that works when the tv turns on every day. prevents the tv showing shadows on the screen.
the answer is this: if that system that prevents shadowing is working then the CRT is broken and say bye to the TV. But if the expert tech can make sure the D' gauss system is not working and can repair it then you get tv back.
Check settings first to make sure no one changed anything out of the ordinary. Are the shadows that of a color or darkened shadow? It could be out of convergence, which can be corrected in the menu - or it could be low quality video cables to. Also, if there is no green, does a white color show up when you're in a menu mode (Red+Blue+Green = White Image)? If so, then the green picture tube is working and it's just a color adjustment, otherwise you may have to invest in a new green picture tube.
If the images are different colors (red, green, blue) then the convergence has diverged. Some TV allow re-convergence through the menu screen, older sets my need to be physically adjusted (aimed) to clear this up. a strong knock to the TV may have cause this.
