ERROR MSG; Unplayable Disc

This is an intermittent problem. Every so often my Xbox 360 will display: UNPLAYABLE DISC when I put a game or DVD in. I contacted MS and it will cost 99 samoleons to fix...meh. It's not under warranty and I am fuming that MS is selling junk. I bought this unit early '06 and have had the 3ROD repaired and now this! I've been on the internet and see I am not the only one with this problem. What's up?

I have another question, if I buy the Arcade Version Xbox360 (199 samoleons) can I use my hard drive from this unit on it?

Disk unreadable but clean disk not scratached

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOmNtrStDgM
Turned on your Xbox 360 console one day and and when you try to play your game you got the message "This disc is unreadable" OR "Unplayable disc".....??
First determine whether it's a fault with the disc or not, by having a look on the disc itself & make sure it's not scratched and there are no flaws even on it, and try other game discs on your Xbox 360 console .
If your disc is scratched or have flaws try putting other discs in your Xbox 360 console just to make sure it's the disc not the actual console causing the error, If other disc are working fine, refer to the scratched discs page on our website to know what are the steps you have to follow to get it sorted out.
If the disc is not scratched and doesn't have any flaws on it, cleaning the disc and trying it once more may solve the issue, if that doesn't work try to check it by putting other discs in your Xbox 360 console, if they all work that would be definitely a fault with the disc itself and in a case like this you have the right to exchange it from the retailer you bought it from as it's not scratched.
In all cases if other game discs are giving you the same error message "This disc is unreadable" OR "Unplayable disc" you need then to contact Xbox 360 customer support to send your console to get repaired or exchanged.

Error msg: to play this disc put in xbox 360

Hi,

the Laser In The DVD Drives Failed.
Try a CD/DVD to see if it will read A single Layer DVD, Rather than the 360 Dual-Layer Disk.

You might try a laser head cleaning CD Disk.

Or requires drive replaced et,c. ** This is not swappable And should Be caried out by """ An Xbox 360 Drive Replacement Specialist, As the dvd drives logic board is paired to the Motherboard, And therefore have to be re-matched.

Unplayable disc

There is a good chance you DVD drive might have either a faulty motor or laser. In this case if you have any type of warranty you should use it but if you don't you'll have to purchase either a new XBox 360 or a new DVD drive.

The new DVD drive will not be able play games if you simply swap the drives. In order to have it play games you'll have to flash the old Key from the broken drive onto the replacement drive.

Either that or if your system is still under the 3 year warranty from RROD by Microsoft you can try to induce RROD on your XBox 360 and take up a claim with them. Most of the time they send u a refurbrished XBox 360 or a new one.

Un playable discs

i think you have a dvd drive problem. Your gonna have to take your xbox apart, (there are videos on youtube on how to take a xbox apart). Then your gonna have to take the dvd drive apart, and there should be a magnet that is stuck to the top of the dvd drive.

Unplayable disc

I've had similar problems and I got myself a CD lens cleaner.

Its a cd/dvd sized disc that has a few small bristle on it so when u put it into your drive, it spins and cleans the lens.

They are pretty cheap and you can get them in any electrical store and I've seen them in a few supermarkets.

Also check that your disc's are clean too.
