You need to know what operating system your PC use. This is a simple steps to make more louder the sound in Windows XP system:

  1. Click [Start] menu, choose [Settings] and then click [Control Panel], finally chose [Sounds and Audio Devices]
  2. On tab [Volume] od Sound and Audio Devices Properties, move Device Volume Control slider from "Low" to "High" position.
  3. Click [Apply] at lower right most corner part of the panel
  4. Click [OK]
  5. The volume has become louder
Note: I think, adding a pair of stereo active speaker is the simple way instead of getting more louder sound of the PC's sound card.

VOLUME COMING FROM SPEAKERS RUNS HIGH AND LOW AND HAS A POPING SOUND

This sounds like a bad solder connection. IT could be on the board that controls the volume. They can be troublesome to locate. You can disassemble it and use a hand magnifier to look for cold solder joints. When you locate one, you use a 40 Watt soldering iron to reheat it and hopefully that fixes the problem. https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-guide-excellent-soldering/common-problems

HP CQ60 Magnifier SW check follow:
1. check magnifier item locate at middle down side (under the HP LOGO ) of lcd panel, you can use screw drive touch there it will be sticky. if it not sticky there---the magnifier item could be removed or lost the function, you need to open the panel to recover this function. if it works well to go next
2) the magnify receiver is located at keyboard frame top middle ( above the power switch) where is a small board in the back side. if you put any magnify stuff on the top near the power switch, laptop will go to sleep statue. if it not works, the magnifier sensor lost function, it need to repair or change the board,

Battery wire location

First you have to remove all backing plates...Wire feeds through the small hole running from battery area and attached to the volume/treble dials...then to the pickups..Everything is soldered to the switches....If you plan on removing them you will need a soldering gun and silver soldering wire...It takes a steady hand and good vision to do this....I recommend a magnifying glass and or glasses....

b. On the Camera Assistant Toolbar, click the Start Camera button and click on the icons on the software.
NOTE: If you are not hearing the audio portion of the video you created, try the following: Verify that you do not have the audio capture muted. An X appears on the Mute button when Mute is selected.

In the Audio Volume section, use the slider bar to increase the volume level. Verify that the notebook's volume is not muted. Pressing the Fn+End keys mutes the volume. Pressing the keys a second time restores the volume. Increase the notebook volume level by pressing the Fn+PgUp keys.

Locate the CMOS battrey, remove it & then with the help of a screw driver keep on pressing the terminal inside it and turn ON the computer for 10 secs and Turn Off (make sure you keep on pressing the terminal with a screwdriver while turning ON). It will short the BIOS setting. Now, fix the CMOS battrey & restart the computer. This will take care of the issue.

I have a Macbook that i can't get the volume on the scale to move up or down.(No volume) The head phones works

Sounds like some stress on the headphone socket ha damaged it, it is fiddly to get at and part of a board, a good tech might be able to fix it with a teeny screwdriver and magnifying glass.

Garmin streetpilot c330 no sound Everything works but no sound. i tryed the volume on the right side but still no sound. what could be the probs? Guarantee expired. How much could it cost to fix? Thanks!

It's the volume pot having a broken solder connection. Disassemble & touch the connection w/a hot pencil iron, but you'll need to do this under a magnifying glass, because of the size of the contacts.
