If the projector is an lcd projector, the heat has caused burn spots on the light filter on the blue lcd. that needs to be replaced by the manufacturer. if it's a dlp projector, there are heat marks on the optics somewhere. also needs to be looked at by the manufacturer. nec, toshiba, and smart won't sell parts, so you'll have to send it in.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hello - my smartboard pointer is 2 to 3 inches off on my dell laptop. when i use other laptops (borrowed) the alignment is fine. Can you offer any solution? thank you

Hello ale477 When you are on the desktop connected to the SMART Board, hold down the keyboard and right mouse click button simultaneously, this will then take you into the orientation screen. Follow the instructions on the screen, basically pressing the markers on the screen in order, the more accurate to you press the centre of the target the better the alignment of the pointer will be.

Not getting power to a 580 smartboard.

if you have no led, the board has no power. you can only have 4 usbs in one hub, and each of those usb cables cannot be over 16 feet long. if it's red, it's not communicating with the computer. check the usb port on the computer. disconnect the usb fron the board and reconnect it. if it's amber, there is a checksum error, so reset the SC9 controller by pushing the reset button on the side of the SC9 for no longer than 3 seconds. if the pen tray leds cycle, all should be well.

Smartboard 580 draws scribbly lines

dip checking first is good. then reorient the board. press and hold the 2 large buttons on the pen tray until the 9-point orientation appears. use one of the smart pens to orient. don't just press the dots, start about 6 inches from the dot and draw an arc to the dot and hold it at the dot for a second, then release and do the same for the other 8. if there is still a problem, the usb voltage might be low coming from the hub/computer. try another usb cable or a shorter one. there shouldn't be more than 4 usb cables coming from one hub and the usb cables cannot be longer than 16 feet.

Wont recognize gtco digitizer on start up

First reset digitizer and make sure you hear four beeps and only four beeps.
Check the cables from the Quikruler to the interface module, make sure they are in good condition, no cuts, breaks missing pins on connector.
Check cables from interface module to digitizer. A good way to check for an intermittent problem is to bend the cable at different points and check the display on the Quikruler to see if has reset.

Select S01 on the superset code with your stylus or cursor. You get get four sucess tones (beeps).

If none of this works check the firmware version on the digitizer, some J2.0 firmware may become corrupted. When the firmware becomes corrupted, you will hear three(3) medium tones on power-up.
If this is happening it will have to be serviced by GTCO.

Video Problems with Windows Media Player

Why is the projected video black in the Player? If you can see the Player, but the Video and Visualization pane is black, this usually indicates that your video card is not configured correctly. You can usually correct this problem by changing the video acceleration and/or overlay settings for your video card. To change video acceleration, do the following: 1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2. In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab. 3. In the Video Acceleration area, move the slider to adjust the video-acceleration capabilities of your video hardware. Drag the slider to Full to use all available video acceleration. Drag the slider to None to use basic video-acceleration settings that work with most video hardware. To change overlay settings, do the following: 1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2. In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab. 3. In the Video Acceleration area, click the Advanced button. 4. In the Video Acceleration Settings dialog box, under Video Acceleration, clear the Use overlays check box.
